Role Description The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing post-installation quality assessments of 3rd Eye products, including onboard computers, external cameras, monitors, radar systems, and vehicle cabling. This role ensures installation accuracy, functionality, and adherence to company standards by evaluating completed installations and providing detailed feedback to Project Managers and field technicians. This position also supports continuous improvement by identifying installation gaps, recommending process enhancements, and occasionally visiting customer sites within the waste and recycling industry to promote and maintain high-quality installation practices across 3rd Eye partners. Essential Job Functions Include - Post-Installation Quality Assessments — Execute thorough on-site and remote evaluations of 3rd Eye digital installations to verify accuracy, functionality, and adherence to company standards. - Deficiency Reporting & Corrective Action — Document installation gaps and deliver clear, actionable deficiency reports to Project Managers and field technicians to drive timely resolution. - Process & Audit Documentation — Develop, document, and maintain installation procedures and quality audit standards that improve consistency and accuracy across the 3rd Eye partner network. - Data-Driven Quality Reporting — Compile periodic reports analyzing field data, summarizing performance against quality standards, and surfacing trends to inform process improvements. - Cross-Functional Collaboration & Customer Engagement — Partner with internal teams and visit customer sites within the waste and recycling industry to reinforce installation best practices and represent the brand professionally. - Conduct visual inspections of products and installations at various stages to ensure reliability and compliance. - Provide end-user instructions and guidance for installed products when required. - Present findings from field start-ups in written and/or verbal formats. - Travel as needed (including occasional short notice travel) to customer sites and industry events. - Represent the organization professionally in all customer-facing interactions. - Attend required training sessions and workshops and may be required to lead sessions and workshops. - Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives. Qualifications - Associate’s degree, technical certification, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience required (will accept 3 years of 3rd Eye installations in lieu of technical certification). - Proven experience with 3rd Eye installations required. - Minimum of five (5) years of combined experience in automotive systems, commercial electronics, and/or waste and recycling vehicle environments. - Hands-on experience with 12-volt automotive systems (minimum of two years). - Working knowledge of electronic testing tools, including voltmeters, power probes, and test lights. - Experience with commercial trucks, waste and recycling vehicles, and light-duty passenger vehicles (minimum of two years). - Strong ability to work independently while effectively following direction in a remote environment. - Self-motivated, proactive, and team-oriented with a strong work ethic and “can-do” attitude. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to professionally interact with customers in person and via phone. - Proficiency in using smartphones and/or Android tablets for reporting and documentation, along with strong overall computer skills. - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; Salesforce experience preferred. - Ability to quickly develop subject matter expertise across all company product lines, kits, and accessories. - Strong attention to detail with a disciplined approach to documentation and note-taking. - Valid driver’s license required, with the ability to maintain insurable and bondable status.
