Senior QA Engineer, Automation

Velsera

• You write test automation scripts, involving both back-and and front-end components according to our best practices & quality standards. • You build tools, frameworks, and other infrastructure needed to support test automation. • You review and validate application requirements and technical specifications to define test specifications for functional, integration and performance tests. • You search for opportunities to enhance all test case automation related activities. • You work as part of a cross-functional scrum team (“POD”), developing applications and services using agile development methodologies. • You will provide technical guidance to other members of the team on test automation as required. • You collaborate with the development team to fix bugs and to quickly address production defects. • You stay up to date with new testing tools and testing strategies, proactively evaluating and improving our testing methodologies for continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

  • You are an outstanding QA automation engineer with +5 years relevant experience in test automation and in our test automation stack.
  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science.
  • You have a strong understanding of software development and test automation principles, such as BDD & TDD. You have experience in working in continuous integration and continuous delivery environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to coach other engineers.
  • Experience in developing software in a regulated environment is a plus

• Elicits (assesses and negotiates) quality-related requirements during quotes and acquisitions • Defines the quality targets and plans quality assurance measures based on internal and customer requirements (e.g. QA-Plan, Customer APQP) • Approves the process tailoring for the assigned process areas • Assesses regularly and independently the project and reports the project QA status (work product maturity and process conformance) • Performs release audits and provides release recommendations • Identifies process improvements based on the project work • Initiates corrective actions for product and process non-conformities and escalates if applicable • Supports and coaches the project team in quality and process related items • Coordinates the QA measures with other QA-related roles in the project (e.g. customer quality, QMPP, NPLM, SQM …) • Supports internal and external audits (e.g. Safe Launch, PPAP, VDA 6.3, IATF 16949, …) • Coordinate QMS implementation within local segment team (PM, R&D etc.) • Fast response / joint analysis support at customer side.
