Field Service Engineer

• Troubleshoot and perform repairs on a wide range of medical imaging equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability across healthcare sites in Scotland. • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure service expectations are met and exceeded. • Collaborate closely with local Sales and Clinical Applications teams to support customer needs and drive solution-oriented service delivery. • Identify and support opportunities for business growth within the region by leveraging technical insights and customer relationships. • When required provide remote technical support to customers, ensuring fast resolution and an optimal customer experience.

Job Requirements

  • Qualified Technician or Engineer, or equivalent professional experience in medical devices.
  • Field Service experience in a healthcare environment is a strong advantage.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues.
  • Self-motivated and independent, capable of working with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Customer-focused mindset, with excellent interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Able to manage differing opinions tactfully and professionally.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication with customers and internal teams.
  • Valid UK driving license, required for travel across Scotland.

As a Major Component Exchange/Repair Technician, you’ll be at the forefront of specialized wind turbine repair and optimization. Traveling to sites across the region, you’ll lead or support major component exchanges – ensuring minimal downtime and peak turbine performance. Your work helps keep turbines turning and communities powered. Key Responsibilities - Ensure safety for everyone involved, including: - Risk Assessment: Identify potential hazards before starting. - Protective Measures: Use appropriate gear, follow protocols, and maintain a safe environment. - Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and standards to prevent accidents. - Perform major component exchanges including gearboxes, generators, and other critical systems. - Execute maintenance, minor to medium repairs, design modifications, retrofits, and special projects – all following established procedures. - Travel extensively to support turbine operations across multiple platforms and site conditions. - Collaborate with teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work. - Conduct safety inspections and ensure a secure working environment. Qualifications - Prioritize safety above all else. - Preferred wind turbine experience with hands-on MCE work. - Minimum one year of wind technician experience, or six months wind technician experience with a Wind Technician certificate/education, or 2 years of transferrable mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic experience. - Proven expertise in troubleshooting and executing major repairs on various platforms. - Comfortable with 100% travel and working in varied site conditions. - A collaborative technician who thrives on solving complex challenges. - Physically fit, comfortable working in various conditions, and at heights. - Ability to speak, read and follow instructions in English. - High school diploma (or equivalent), a valid driver’s license, and legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.
