Service Engineer
Supermicro
• Provide remote support with a combination of dedicated support and helpdesk support • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems • Drive customer satisfaction through service excellence • Ensure escalation situations are managed quickly • Provide 2nd line support to reseller/distributors • Work with Technical Account Manager and Product Manager • Run tests and simulations at the facility • Train new service engineers • Manage the day to day tickets assigned on the SMC Service Portal • Experience with generating and presenting quality reports

Role Description This is a remote, hourly position requiring 100% travel across the Northeast region. With overtime, travel, and supplemental earnings, MCE Technicians have the potential to earn over $100,000 per year. As a Major Component Exchange/Repair Technician, you’ll be at the forefront of specialized wind turbine repair and optimization. Traveling to sites across the region, you’ll lead or support major component exchanges – ensuring minimal downtime and peak turbine performance. Your work helps keep turbines turning and communities powered. Key Responsibilities - Ensure safety for everyone involved, including: - Risk Assessment: Identify potential hazards before starting. - Protective Measures: Use appropriate gear, follow protocols, and maintain a safe environment. - Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and standards to prevent accidents. - Perform major component exchanges including gearboxes, generators, and other critical systems. - Execute maintenance, minor to medium repairs, design modifications, retrofits, and special projects – all following established procedures. - Travel extensively to support turbine operations across multiple platforms and site conditions. - Collaborate with teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work. - Conduct safety inspections and ensure a secure working environment. Qualifications - Prioritize safety above all else. - Preferred wind turbine experience with hands-on MCE work. - Minimum one year of wind technician experience, or six months wind technician experience with a Wind Technician certificate/education, or 2 years of transferrable mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic experience. - Proven expertise in troubleshooting and executing major repairs on various platforms. - Comfortable with 100% travel and working in varied site conditions. - A collaborative technician who thrives on solving complex challenges. - Physically fit, comfortable working in various conditions, and at heights. - Ability to speak, read and follow instructions in English. - High school diploma (or equivalent), a valid driver’s license, and legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.
