Sales Engineer

• Partner with mid-market/majors GTM Sales and Account Management teams to help lead pre-sales discovery, assess client needs for new and expansion opportunities, and deliver targeted demonstrations that validate platform capabilities, integration workflows, and technical requirements. • Customize and position solutions through tailored demonstrations aligned to client-specific requirements, articulating technical capabilities, and business impact to advance deal opportunities. • Document finalized scoped requirements and solutions and transition them to the Implementation Project Manager to initiate onboarding. • Lead knowledge transfer sessions with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to enable a seamless client handoff from pre-sales to implementation. • Serve as a subject matter expert on all commonly sold background screening products, services, solutions, platforms, and supported partnered integrations. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify client requirements, identify gaps, and inform product enhancement roadmaps by translating technical constraints into actionable recommendations. • Improve sales engineering scalability by contributing to best practices and process improvements across discovery, solution design and demos.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Business, Engineering, or similar) or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years’ experience in services sales/pre-sales, business development, product management, consulting, or related positions.
- Strong knowledge of pre-employment background screening products and services (e.g. criminal screening, drug testing and occupational screening including DOT and random screening).
- Familiarity with I9/E-Verify concepts and common integrations with applicant tracking systems (e.g. Workday, iCIMS, Oracle Recruiting, etc.)
- Strong understanding of regulatory considerations for screening programs; experience in healthcare, transportation, and/or financial services is highly desirable.
- Proven success in selling and scoping business process solutions.
- Hands-on experience documenting customer needs and requirements (e.g., scoping and design requirements, proposals, Statements of Work or Product Requirements documents).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze client issues and identify comprehensive solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to translate technical capabilities into measurable business value.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies is highly desirable.
