Role Description The Regional Engineering Manager provides leadership, vision, and direction for a regional engineering team within AVI-SPL’s Systems Integration Group (SIG). This role ensures successful planning, design, technical accuracy, and quality of audiovisual solutions. Working as a strategic partner to Sales and internal technical teams, the Regional Engineering Manager executes enterprise engineering strategy within the region, translating objectives into regional operating plans, performance outcomes, and resource alignment. Responsibilities - Lead and develop a regional engineering team that triages, prioritizes, and delivers presales engineering support for all opportunities across the region. - Own regional performance by setting clear expectations and tracking performance metrics (KPIs and operational targets). - Enforce and coach the technical community in creating aligned Standards & Best Practices. - Provide mentoring, coaching, and growth opportunities for engineering staff. - Manage scheduling, resource planning, and workload balancing of the engineering teams. - Collaborate globally with Preferred Partners to foster high-value relationships. - Monitor labor expenditures to ensure alignment with departmental and project level budgets. - Accountable for regional engineering financial performance, including labor efficiency and resource utilization. - Collaborate with regional sales and engineering leadership to meet revenue commitments and sales velocity. - Drive adoption, compliance, and continuous feedback on enterprise engineering standards. - Manage and coach temporary Tiger Teams for high-impact challenges. - Engage in project design and labor plan reviews for high-risk opportunities. - Enforce and coach AVI-SPL processes and deliverables for smooth transitions from pre-sales to post-sales. - Facilitate and coach post-project retrospectives to inform pre-sales strategies. - Execute talent development strategies by coaching Engineering Managers and Supervisors. - Provide training to internal departments on new technologies and processes. - Manage key regional client and partner relationships to support delivery excellence. - Represent AVI-SPL at select regional events as requested by leadership. - Build long-term relationships within the team and among peers. - Travel to select industry events and regional offices as requested. - Participate in ad hoc projects critical to organizational strategy. - Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as needed. Qualifications - Ability to lead with confidence and create alignment amongst various departments. - Ability to direct a team towards strategic objectives and maintain efficient timelines. - Proven ability to contribute to operational initiatives with a results-oriented approach. - Ability to build internal and client-facing relationships. - Exceptional strategic thinking and structured problem-solving skills. - Excellent presentation skills and adept at articulating ideas to Executive stakeholders. - Excellent capability to multi-task while adapting to changing priorities. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. - Proficient in various business productivity systems, including Microsoft 365 Products. - Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards. - Extensive knowledge of AV industry trends, standards, and customer expectations. - 5+ years in a direct leadership role. Requirements - Minimum of 4-year engineering degree or comparable industry experience is required. - 10+ years engineering experience required. - CTS-D or similar certifications are preferred. - Demonstrated experience understanding and executing technical strategies.
