Role Description We are looking for a Technical Writer for our established team; this role can be based in any CSC office or remote. As the Technical Writer, you will work with our team of Technical Software Trainers to: - Write new content and confirm integrity of training materials in the product training repository. - Create customer communications that deliver content through a wide range of target audiences. The Technical Writer works closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to: - Create, edit, update, and manage a variety of curriculum documentation and video assets for multiple software products. - Own the end-to-end lifecycle of a growing library of training guides, eLearning courses, certification documents, knowledge exams, and training videos. - Ensure all content adheres to CSC-approved branding and formatting standards, reviewed and approved by relevant SMEs prior to publishing. This position requires approximately 10–15 hours of cross-functional communication weekly across US time zones. The ideal candidate has: - A strong command of professional American English. - The interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams, translating casual SME input into polished, brand-consistent content. Requirements - Create, edit, update, and manage training guides, eLearning courses (Rise), knowledge exams (Storyline), training videos, certification documents, and case studies for Licensing and Tax software products. - Own the end-to-end lifecycle of 90+ training assets, including guides, courses, and videos, with library expansion as a key priority. - Gather complex technical data and translate it into accurate, easy-to-understand content for a wide range of target audiences. - Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by peers and subject matter experts in a timely manner. - Capture and update screenshots, GIFs, and short videos using SnagIt, Camtasia, or Adobe Premiere; apply effects such as zoom and highlight as needed. - SCORM-export courses and exams; publish, test, and release content through the Thought Industries LMS. - Create Help Hero in-app tours, feature release notifications, and alerts for AppealTrack and License Pro products. - Edit conference-related videos and documents, including captioning, audio quality review, and copyediting of PowerPoints. - Collaborate with SMEs, product managers, trainers, and instructional designers across US time zones to gather source material and ensure accuracy. - Analyze design specifications and requirements with project managers, sales teams, and other appropriate stakeholders. - Participate across multiple platforms—including SharePoint, Box, NetSuite, and issue trackers—to ensure all documentation needs are met. - Communicate issues or risks to project leads proactively. - Provide peers with assistance and foster a team environment where ideas to improve efficiency, process, and morale are welcomed. - Perform effectively as a collaborative team member while also working independently with minimal supervision. - Understand and anticipate customer business needs; proactively search for opportunities to exceed customer expectations. - Build and maintain strong customer and stakeholder relationships through clear, professional communication. - Adapt to change in projects and the organization with a positive and solutions-oriented mindset. - Seek opportunities to fulfill goals in your career development plan, such as training or stretch project tasks.
