Business Development Manager – Utility Technology

• Take ownership of opportunities post-lead generation, whether sourced by internal teams, partners, or independently, by engaging with prospects, qualifying needs, advancing solution discussions, managing negotiations, and driving deals to close • Develop and implement strategies to identify and target potential clients in the water industry for intelligent water solutions to increase operational efficiency • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including water utilities, municipalities, and government agencies • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs • Collaborate with internal teams to customize and present proposals, demonstrating the value proposition of the Ferguson One Municipal team • Drive business growth by identifying new opportunities and collaborating with internal teams to close deals • Provide ongoing support to clients, including but not limited to: project management, technical assistance, troubleshooting and field support • Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and technology trends • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and generate leads • Contribute to the development of marketing materials, case studies, and other collateral to support sales efforts • Act as a Subject-Matter expert (SME) related to applications across the water cycle both internally and externally • Promote solutions and customer successes on social media platforms regularly
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience related to water technology solutions
- Experience with deploying water technology solutions such as Non-Revenue Water programs and Wastewater Collection System enhancements
- Pipeline management experience (Salesforce CRM experience preferred)
- Experienced in contract and customer negotiations
- Skilled in presentation for proposals and industry conferences
- Strong communication skills
- Well organized, good time management, self-starter
- Microsoft 365 experience
- Must be located near major airport along Eastern, US
- Willingness to travel as appropriate (+/- 30% on average)

Role Description We are looking for experienced techno‑commercial professional to commercially manage and grow our Mining customer segment. The ideal candidate would have deep technical understanding of gold and metal mining operations with strong commercial acumen and market development capability. This role will act as a trusted partner to mining customers, identifying opportunities where activated carbon solutions deliver operational, environmental, and economic value. Geographically this role will cover Southeast Asian region and may have broader geography under umbrella depending on growth opportunities.
