Role Description As Product Counsel, you'll have a broad range of responsibilities providing legal guidance on product and feature development. You will report to Cash App’s Head of Product Counsel (Commerce and Credit) and partner with our product teams to develop new offerings while managing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance. As we expand our offerings, your ideas and contributions will make an immediate impact. You are highly motivated, organized, and creative. You are curious, with a desire to understand underlying causes and motivations. You’ve got experience with lending products, either as in-house counsel or through your work at a firm. You are able to research and master complex legal topics and communicate them to non-lawyers in brief, clear language. You can markup a complex commercial contract, draft terms of service, manage a conversation with a bank partner, and draft a memo on the legal aspects of a new product feature. You are good-humored, patient, respectful to your co-workers, and bring a positive attitude to our team. You are capable of an expert understanding of a legal issue but can separate the practical from the academic and provide clear, accurate, and actionable advice to the business team. Role Description Responsible for managing a workers’ compensation case load from inception to resolution in the state of Pennsylvania. This is a Remote work opportunity covering Courts in the State of Pennsylvania. - Independently represents the Employer/Carrier before the assigned Judge of Workers’ Compensation and presents witnesses and evidence at administrative hearings on litigated workers’ compensation claims. - Analyzes complex legal and factual issues, conducts extensive, well-reasoned legal research, and independently develops and presents defense strategies on behalf of the Employer/Carrier. - Prepares pleadings, written discovery, motions, and briefs in support of defense strategies. - Prepares for, attends, and handles all case-related activities. - Provides effective and timely communications, information, legal advice, and other services to clients and claims professionals on legal and factual issues. - Position requires the use of independent judgment, research, litigation, and analytical skills. - Assists in developing training materials for the WC Claims Department. - Works with the WC Claim Department on special projects related to the practice of workers' compensation. - Communicates with the Judges’ offices, Claims, witnesses, opposing counsel, and clients in a manner consistent with established office procedures. - Responsible for the prompt, efficient, and effective disposition of assigned cases. - Keeps current with market trends and demands. Attends Continuing Legal Education seminars to maintain a high level of professional expertise. - Performs other functionally related duties as assigned. Qualifications - Pennsylvania State Bar licensed attorney in good standing. - Knowledge of PA Workers' Compensation statutes, case law, and local court policies and procedures. - Strong legal research and writing skills. - 5+ years workers’ compensation litigation experience. Requirements - Defense-based workers’ compensation litigation experience (preferred). - Experience with legal software and dictation (preferred). - Experience with Westlaw (preferred). - Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Microsoft Word (preferred). - State Bar licenses in Pennsylvania and/or New York would be a plus, but is not required. • Conducts audits of Staff Counsel files to measure and ensure quality case handling, reporting and compliance with Staff Counsel policies and procedures. • PROVIDES post-audit feedback to management on cases that may need immediate attention, and any violations of Staff Counsel policies and procedures discovered during the audit. • ACTS as an objective source of independent recommendations to senior management and effectively COMMUNICATES findings and recommendations including the identity of loopholes, gaps in policy, and irregularities related to reporting requirements. • PREPARES and PRESENTS reports on audit trends to members of senior management and Staff Counsel Managers and MAKES recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the audit process. • ASSISTS in developing best practices and RECOMMENDS improvements to existing policies and procedures. • ADHERES to the GEICO Code of Conduct, company policies and operating principles.

• Serve as legal advisor to Product and Engineering, providing timely guidance during product development cycles. • Help shape and implement Teleport's AI governance framework, including use-case risk evaluation standards, and documentation practices. • Contribute to cross-functional workstreams to develop and implement internal, scalable processes and policies for responsible AI use, working closely with engineering, security, and product leadership. • Advise on AI-related intellectual property matters, including licensing and data usage. • Advise on open source licensing models and the legal considerations relevant to open source software development and distribution. • Monitor and interpret evolving AI regulations and global privacy frameworks, including the EU AI Act, GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA, translating requirements into clear, actionable guidance for technical and business stakeholders. • Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs), data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), and AI risk analyses for new features and product lines. • Support data mapping, data subject requests, and data governance improvements across the product portfolio. • Draft, review, and negotiate data processing agreements (DPAs) and AI-specific addendums, serving as the escalation point for the commercial legal team on privacy and AI issues. • Perform due diligence on vendor compliance, and negotiate contracts to include robust data protection clauses. • Partner with Security on incident response and regulatory inquiries, including breach assessment and stakeholder notifications. • Develop internal playbooks, training programs, and policies, including privacy policies, terms of service, and DPAs, to build a culture of compliance and proactively address emerging risks. • Partner with security and engineering teams to support compliance certifications such as SOC 2, ISO 27001 and 27701, HIPAA and PCI from a privacy and legal perspective.
