Position Summary Salute is seeking an Accounting Manager, Americas, to lead and strengthen accounting operations across the Americas region in a fully remote capacity. This is a hybrid individual contributor and people management role - you will personally own the more complex accounting processes, journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis, while overseeing and reviewing the team’s work on more routine and standard accounting activities. This role is responsible for owning the most judgment-intensive components of the monthly close process, preparing and reviewing complex journal entries and reconciliations, delivering financial reporting and variance analysis, and ensuring accuracy and completeness across the Americas close and reporting cycle. You will also be responsible for reviewing and approving the team’s work product, providing coaching and development, and progressively expanding their scope as processes stabilize and mature. The position primarily supports operations and business units in the United States, with additional exposure to Canada, Chile, and Argentina. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, supervisory experience, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive approach to strengthening processes, addressing legacy issues, and building scalable accounting practices. Salary: $100K-$130k/yr + 10% annual bonus Location: Remote USA Schedule: Monday-Friday Key Responsibilities Individual Contribution & Execution - Own the more complex and judgment-intensive components of the month-end close process, with primary focus on U.S. operations and support for other Americas entities - Prepare and post complex journal entries, including accruals, estimates, reclassifications, and non-routine transactions for assigned areas - Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations for higher-risk and higher-complexity accounts, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner - Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP - Analyze financial results and provide clear, concise variance explanations to leadership - Own multi-entity accounting activities across the Americas region (U.S., Canada, Chile, Argentina), including intercompany transactions, and partner globally as needed - Apply professional judgment to evaluate transactions, research technical accounting matters, and determine appropriate accounting treatment in coordination with the Americas Controller Team Oversight & Review - Directly manage and develop a team, including workload prioritization, performance feedback, and professional development - Review and approve the journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules on more routine and standard accounting processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP - Establish and maintain clear expectations for quality, timeliness, and documentation standards across the team - Coach and develop others to progressively take on increasing complexity and broader scope as processes stabilize - Serve as the primary escalation point for accounting issues and questions within the Americas accounting team Process Improvement & Projects - Identify and drive process improvements, including implementation of enhanced controls, documentation, and scalable workflows - Contribute to project-based work aimed at strengthening accounting operations and preparing the organization for growth - Address documentation gaps by creating and maintaining clear, scalable accounting process documentation - Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and other teams across geographies - Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA track preferred) - 5-7+ years of relevant accounting experience - 1-2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience (direct oversight of at least one report) - Strong experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations - Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles - Experience with ERP systems - Strong ability to work independently in a fully remote, high-accountability environment - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and time zones Preferred Qualifications - 2-3 years of public accounting (audit experience strongly preferred) - 2-3 years of industry accounting experience in multi-entity environments - Experience with intercompany accounting - Exposure to international accounting and foreign currency (FX) transactions - Experience with Sage Intacct and/or Deltek systems - Experience in infrastructure services, construction, engineering, or project-based environment - Preferred EST or CST time zone working hours Why Salute?
