Role Description Under the direction of the Director EHS, the EHS Regional Manager will support the business Segment by driving and supporting Enterprise and Segment-wide EHS programs, policies, standards and directives. The EHS Regional Manager will be responsible to drive initiatives, best practices and results through continuous improvement processes. - Act as EHS subject matter expert to ensure safety and environmental compliance with company, state and federal policies and regulations. - Assist the EHS Director in prioritizing EHS focus areas/plants within the Business Segment. - Assist with development of safety improvement plans and implementation of action items associated with risk reduction. - Conduct regular site visits to verify progress towards established goals, improvement plans, action items and initiatives. - Support and participate in risk reduction activities to manage claims, reduce injuries and reduce workers compensation costs including: ergonomics, manual handling, industrial hygiene and machine guarding. - Communicate with government agencies, plant leaders and segment leaders. - Assist in the evaluation and review of expense or capital projects. - Assist in annual performance reviews and development plans of site EHS professionals. - Schedule, lead and direct Safety and Environmental Kaizens. - Assist with injury review, root cause determination and implementation of corrective action. - Lead and support integration and facility consolidation. - Conduct creative behavior based, leadership and employee proactive training. - Implement and monitor environmental, health and safety programs including injury reduction, industrial safety, waste management, air emissions, wastewater discharge, and spill/emergency response. - Promote the use of the EMS database to manage and track injuries, compliance calendar, JSA’s, corrective actions and other key EMS program elements. - Analyze first aid, near miss, recordable incidents to implement and communicate proactive measures to prevent similar injuries. - Conduct safety and environmental audits/inspections, communicate results, document and track progress of corrective actions and follow-up to ensure measures have been implemented. - Provide technical support to pollution and/or risk prevention projects as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education credentials in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, a relevant technical or engineering discipline. - A minimum of 7-10 years of increasing EHS responsibility including leadership experience. - Proven ability to influence and lead in a matrix organization. - Detail oriented, compliance minded, ability to manage a number of disparate projects simultaneously and effective communication are essential skills for this position. - Basic proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Benchmark experience is desired. Requirements - Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. - Frequent heavy lifting, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling. - 50% - 75% travel is required. - Ability to work remote and/or work at a Hubbell location.
