Territory Manager
Suncor
• Represent Suncor within a framework of operations management support for the Colorado retail network • Responsible for the safety, sales growth and image of retail locations within an assigned territory • Ensure standard procedure compliance, building strong business relationships, driving site execution with independent business associates, and improving profitability and overall business growth • Develop and execute business/safety plans for each site, focusing on driving car wash and inside sales performance to improve profitability and growth of the territory • Recruit, select, coach, and develop business associates to achieve high levels of performance in all aspects of their business including achievement of sales targets, customer service, merchandising and site image per Suncor and brand standards, policies and programs • Ensure the safety and environmental integrity of Suncor’s retail operations • Use performance analysis tools and methodologies to ensure retail stores are being operated according to Suncor principles, policies and practices • Collaborate with our Merchandise Administrator to identify and leverage new business opportunities/offers within the territory • Provide weekly/monthly stewardship reports for budgeting and site performance reviews; perform auditing, bank reconciliation and inventory audit reconciliation • Manage store expenses and work with facilities to reduce routine maintenance costs where possible and minimize risk to Suncor • Handle day-to-day operational decisions with minimal supervision and provide judgement on routine decisions falling outside standard policy
Job Requirements
- A University degree, preferably in business, commerce, or marketing
- 3 to 5 years of experience in retail sales or marketing
- Leadership and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to coach and counsel; ability to manage conflict and achieve win/win solution
- Demonstrated financial, analytical, business decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety requirements in the retail convenience store industry (e.g. spill containment, tank monitoring systems, fuel dispensers and food safety)
- A valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to Suncor
