Admin Assistant to Editorial Manager

Abuse Refuge Org

Role Description Provides administrative and operational support to the Editorial Manager (EM) and Editorial team. - Coordinate with Editorial Manager on communications to team. - Assists with assigning and tracking tasks for Journalists and Content Proofreaders. - Reviews and proofreads publications and correspondence for accuracy, grammar, formatting, and adherence to style guidelines. - Use Google Drive, Asana, and Slack to prepare, organize, and maintain editorial materials and records. - Assists with reviewing and generating graphics in Canva for publication materials. - Ensures publications and projects meet quality standards, specifications, and production deadlines. - Reviews drafts before being assigned to Editorial Manager for review. - Coordinate with other department leadership as requested by EM. - Other duties as assigned by EM. Qualifications - Available to volunteer 10+ hours per week. - Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong proofreading, writing, and editing abilities. - Proficient with Asana, Slack, Adobe Acrobat, Google Drive (or similar software). - Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. - Previous administrative, editorial, or office support experience preferred. - Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred. - Prior experience supporting editorial, publishing, or communications teams is a plus. - Must be available during EST hours.
