Social Security Attorney – Mid-level

• Handle a caseload of approximately 700 active cases; • Draft interlocutory petitions, appeals and procedural filings in social security litigation; • Work on cases related to benefits under the RGPS (General Social Security Regime); • Manage procedural steps from the administrative application through the conclusion of administrative proceedings; • Conduct case analysis and define legal strategies in coordination with the partners; • Monitor all procedural deadlines; • Review notifications, docket movements and other relevant procedural acts; • Use court systems and legal case management software to track matters; • Organize and manage the case portfolio; • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of case law and changes in social security legislation.

Job Requirements

  • Law degree with active OAB (Brazilian Bar Association) registration;
  • Postgraduate specialization in Social Security Law is a plus;
  • Solid experience in Social Security Law, with work involving a range of benefits under the RGPS;
  • Experience drafting interlocutory petitions, appeals and other procedural filings from the initial petition through final judgment/res judicata;
  • Experience managing a high volume of active cases;
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and electronic filing systems;
  • Experience with legal case management software is a plus;
  • Strong legal drafting skills, with excellent command of the Portuguese language;
  • Familiarity with court/judiciary systems;
  • Rigorous organization for control of deadlines and deliverables;
  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote/home-office setting;
  • Ethical, technical, respectful and collaborative professional conduct.
