Job Description

Senior Product Manager, Kitchen Display Systems

Block

Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together. So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions - to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale. Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes - large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We're building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same. The Role The restaurant industry is experiencing a significant transformation, with technology becoming increasingly crucial in determining a restaurant's success. Kitchen Display Systems (KDS) are the nerve center of restaurant operations-where orders become food and kitchen teams execute at speed. As part of Square's F&B Service team, you'll have the opportunity to own the end-to-end KDS experience, spanning the full ecosystem of connectivity, displays, and kitchen operations. We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy and execution for Kitchen Display Systems, one of Square's top priorities. In this role, you'll shape how restaurants receive, manage, and fulfill orders across their kitchen. You'll work closely with Engineering and Design to deliver a best-in-class KDS experience that helps kitchen teams work faster, smarter, and with fewer errors. You Will Own and drive the vision, strategy, and execution for Kitchen Display Systems end-to-end Lead the KDS ecosystem including connectivity, display hardware, and kitchen operations workflows Work closely with restaurant owners, operators, and kitchen staff to deeply understand their processes, pain points, and use cases across the complexity spectrum-from single-station kitchens to multi-station QSR operations Lead the development of scalable, enterprise-grade features that help restaurants manage complex kitchen workflows across multiple stations and order channels Collaborate with teams across Square (Product Marketing, Hardware, Customer Support, Account Management, and other F&B product teams) to ensure our solutions are well-designed and well-supported Drive alignment across multiple stakeholder teams and influence product direction at the executive level Use data and customer insights to make informed product decisions and measure success Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, gathering feedback and iterating on solutions You Have Experience: 5+ years of product management experience with demonstrated success in building complex enterprise software products. Vision: You've successfully developed and executed product strategies that have transformed how businesses operate at scale. You can articulate a compelling long-term vision while breaking it down into actionable milestones. Technical Leadership: You have experience leading complex technical initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and system integrations. You can understand and navigate technical architecture to make informed trade-off decisions. Customer Empathy: You have a proven ability to deeply understand customer needs and translate complex requirements into elegant solutions. You've shaped product direction based on both qualitative feedback and quantitative data.
