Job Description

Senior Department Accounting Assistant – Infectious Diseases

• Formulates grant and study budgets according to established norms, enters documentation, secures approvals and establishes multidisciplinary research project control • Authorizes expenses on grant studies and related departmental or project study accounts • Processes documents such as check requests, travel documents, purchase orders, and invoice statements • Records, maintains, and processes functions related to various equipment used in accounting processes • Processes payroll and appointments for academic and staff personnel • Maintains departmental personnel files and assists with benefits administration • Distributes and screens mail, routing to appropriate staff • Copies documents for distribution for signature

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
  • Accounting/Bookkeeping (5 Years)
  • Bachelor's degree - Accounting or Business preferred
  • No specific certification/professional license is required for this position

Role Description We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Executive Assistant to support a growing hospitality group that owns and operates three venues. This is a fulltime remote contractor role with a mix of bookkeeping and administrative support. The business is currently working with an external bookkeeping firm but is looking to transition to a more responsive, cost-efficient, and integrated support setup. Our second business, Caring Transitions, is a senior relocation and estate services franchise that provides compassionate downsizing, relocation, and online auction services. We are a close-knit team that values accuracy, integrity, and flexibility. Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Part-Time Bookkeeper to support both of our businesses. This role is ideal for someone who thrives working independently in a remote environment, can manage multiple sets of books, and has experience, or a strong interest, in both real estate and service-based business accounting. The position requires approximately 10–20 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling, and includes a couple of onsite meetings per month at our local office.
