504 Facilitator

Role Description The 504 Facilitator coordinates, supports, and manages all aspects of 504 programming to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations pertaining to persons with disabilities. - Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure they are implementing the 504 Plan recommendations for success of students. - Oversee development and implementation of 504 Plans on attainment of academic standards defined by the state. - Collaborate with students/learning coaches on implementation of 504 plans. - Evaluate and review student progress on a regular basis and annually. - Facilitate 504 meetings timely and according to applicable protocols. - Facilitate the revision of the 504 Plan goals as necessary and maintain 504 files, ensuring they are compliant with local and state regulations. - Input student data in appropriate systems and maintain other student records as needed in a compliant manner. - Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, professional development (virtual and face-to-face) and school committees. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Education or similar area of study AND - Three (3) years of 504/IEP related work experience OR - Equivalent combination of education and experience. - Valid Texas Teacher Certification. Requirements - Understanding of applicable sections of the state and federal education laws and other pertinent regulations. - Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills both in-person and electronically. - Customer service oriented. - Able to read data and determine what steps are needed to assist students academically and behaviorally, as a whole and on an individual basis. - Demonstrates the use of good judgment in decision-making. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook as well as Internet research methods and report writing techniques. - Ability to travel 20% of the time for work including to support in-person testing, meetings, and professional development. - Ability to clear required background check including obtain fingerprint clearance. Desired Qualifications - Valid Texas Principal Certification. - Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or brick and mortar environment. This person is a critical part of the success of SWCA’s national Talent Development program and will support the design, delivery, and administration of learning and development initiatives across the organization. The Learning & Development Specialist will interact daily with HR partners, leaders, and employees to ensure effective delivery of development programs, from program coordination through participant experience and reporting.
