Clinician Coverage Coordinator

Role Description The Clinician Coverage Coordinator supports OBHG operations by coordinating and managing clinician schedules across assigned hospital programs. This role ensures that shifts are efficiently filled with a mix of full-time, part-time, and locum tenens clinicians — balancing staffing needs with operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, relationship-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities - Build, maintain, and publish clinician schedules across assigned programs. - Fill open and emergency shifts in collaboration with recruitment, HR, privileging, and operations teams. - Partner with the Clinician Experience team to coordinate onboarding and orientation for new clinicians. - Communicate proactively with clinicians and internal stakeholders to ensure timely shift coverage. - Negotiate with clinicians to fill open shifts, balancing budget constraints and contractual requirements. - Maintain accurate schedule documentation and data within the scheduling system. - Develop and nurture professional relationships with clinicians through phone, email, and text communication. - Support organizational goals to provide 90-day advance notice of schedules where possible. Qualifications - 2–3 years of experience in healthcare scheduling, operations, or a related field. - Proven success managing complex workloads with accuracy under tight deadlines. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software systems. - Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills. - Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform in a high-paced environment. - Collaborative mindset with excellent interpersonal and negotiation abilities. Requirements - Associate’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field (preferred). - Experience coordinating locum tenens or per diem providers (preferred). - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision (preferred). Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as communications or public relations. - 6+ years of experience working on an in-house communications team or PR agency. Tech experience preferred but not required. - Experience in executive communications, internal communications or strategic communications in a fast-moving environment. - Experience working with C-suite executives or other senior leaders, including supporting high-visibility communications with sound judgment, discretion and attention to detail. - Experience leading cross-functional work and building effective partnerships across teams such as Marketing, ABPs, Chiefs of Staff, HR and Communications. - Experience project managing complex communications workstreams or events with multiple stakeholders, shifting timelines and high standards for execution. - Experience supporting large-scale internal events or external events involving senior leaders, such as industry conferences, leadership summits or similar tentpole moments. - Experience in media relations or external communications, including partnering with PR teams to support media prep, executive visibility or externally facing messaging.
