Job Requirements

Role Description The Project Coordinator is responsible for the analysis, reporting, and documentation of various operating sectors within the Military Housing (MH) Portfolio. This role plays a critical part in supporting day-to-day project execution while ensuring financial accuracy, reporting integrity, and budget visibility across the portfolio. The position coordinates efforts for the Project Development team across multiple projects and supports VPs, Project Directors, and the Director of Project Management Coordination (DPMC) in making informed decisions related to portfolio management, development, reporting, and capital improvements. Role Description Bat Conservation International (BCI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ending bat extinctions worldwide, seeks a Santa Fe Assistant Project Manager to join BCI’s HP&R Program. The Santa Fe Assistant Project Manager must be highly collaborative and enjoy working within an environment that is mission and results-driven, where they can bring their knowledge and passion to work and contribute to the mission of BCI. The Santa Fe Assistant Project Manager will support restoration efforts in the 2022 Hermit Peak-Calf Canyon (HPCC) fire scar located within the Santa Fe National Forest. Their work will focus on post-fire recovery efforts within the 342,000-acre HPCC scar and adjacent impacted areas of Santa Fe National Forest. This position is remote/work from home and will require travel to field sites and partner meetings. Remote work requires reliable internet access. Work may require overnight camping in front and backcountry settings, potentially for extended periods. Primary Responsibilities and Expectations - Report to the Northern New Mexico Project Manager. - Work closely with other members of the Habitat Protection and Restoration program to support planning, development, and implementation of HPCC range infrastructure and recovery projects. - This position is grant funded until August 2029. Additional project funds may extend the position well beyond 2029. - Ideal for a restoration practitioner, biologist, hydrologist, range management specialist, or conservationist with interest and experience in planning and/or implementing natural resource improvement and watershed restoration projects. Position Description - Work with the Northern New Mexico Project Manager to assess, plan, and implement range infrastructure (spring development, range fencing, and corral construction) projects within the HPCC burn scar. - Perform contractor oversight and inspection of range fencing projects. - Conduct ongoing communication internally and with partners on the status of project planning, implementation, and project successes. - Provide logistical and supervisory support for field crews. Qualifications - Undergraduate degree in natural resource management, wildlife biology, biology, forestry, botany, hydrology, engineering or related field or four (4) years of relevant work experience in conservation, ecological restoration or natural resources. - A minimum of one (1) year of professional experience with proven results in project management, planning, or oversight related to construction, range management, watershed restoration, wildlife habitat, or related disciplines. - Knowledge of and experience in Federal land management policies, procedures, and regulations. - Ability to work, communicate, and ask for support effectively with all levels of staff, government agencies, industry, landowners, and other partners. - Ability to work and hike in remote post-fire landscapes with accompanying gear.
