Principal Systems Analyst Location: Remote US Type: Contract Category: Business Analysis Industry: Financial Services Workplace Type: Remote Reference ID: JN -052026-106836 Job Description: Remote Our client seeks Principal Systems Analysts to drive analysis and documentation supporting the modernization of brokerage, trading, reporting, and data processing systems to AWS. The role requires enterprise systems analysis, strong requirements and data skills, and the ability to translate complex workflows into scalable cloud solutions. The analyst will collaborate across engineering, product, architecture, QA, and business stakeholders within an Agile model. The program spans APIs, data movement, reporting, and migration from legacy mainframe platforms. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $60.00 to $65.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities: - Analyze existing legacy trading, reporting, and brokerage workflows to support modernization initiatives. - Gather, document, and refine business and technical requirements for cloud migration projects. - Collaborate with engineering teams to define scalable target-state architectures and workflows. - Support modernization of APIs, reporting platforms, data movement processes, and cloud-native application capabilities. - Document current-state and future-state business processes, system interactions, and data flows. - Work closely with stakeholders to identify dependencies, integration points, and migration risks. - Conduct data analysis and mapping activities supporting cloud data migration and reporting modernization. - Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and user story development. - Create detailed functional specifications, process documentation, and acceptance criteria. - Partner with QA and SDET teams to validate business functionality and testing requirements. - Assist with production support analysis, issue resolution, and root cause investigations. - Support phased migration strategies designed to minimize operational disruption and downtime. - Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders. Experience Requirements: - 8+ years as a Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Technical Analyst. - Experience supporting enterprise-scale modernization or migration initiatives. - Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills. - Strong data analysis and SQL experience. - Proficiency with REST and SOAP APIs. - Proficiency with JSON and YAML. - Experience with API testing tools such as Insomnia or Bruno. - Experience with SQL, relational databases, and Python or scripting. - Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk or Datadog. - Working knowledge of API authentication models including JWT and 2Way SSL. - Experience analyzing complex enterprise applications and integrations. - Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications. - Experience in Agile or Scrum delivery environments. - Strong collaboration and communication skills. - Ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders. - Proven effectiveness in fast-paced enterprise environments. - Experience within financial services, brokerage, wealth management, or trading environments (preferred). - Experience supporting cloud migration initiatives (preferred). - Understanding of APIs, microservices, and cloud-native architectures (preferred). - Familiarity with AWS cloud environments (preferred). - Experience with reporting and data warehouse modernization (preferred). - Understanding of end-to-end trading workflows and financial transaction processing (preferred). - Experience with enterprise data lakes, reporting platforms, or analytics systems (preferred). Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
