Role Description The Senior Director of Architecture, Engineering & Visibility at Black Lotus Security Group leads the strategy, design, and delivery of BLSG’s core threat intelligence and security platforms. This role oversees the architecture and operations of the Black Lotus Labs platform, enabling global IP backbone visibility, advanced threat research, and secure product innovation in partnership with Network Operations, Threat Research, and Security Product teams. You will drive cloud transformation, modernize legacy systems, scale petabyte-level data platforms, and unify diverse telemetry to enhance real-time threat detection. This leader guides multidisciplinary engineering teams, strengthens strategic technical partnerships, and ensures all solutions are resilient, cloud-native, secure, and ready to scale with evolving cyber threats and business growth. Main Responsibilities - Set and execute architectural vision for petabyte-scale threat intelligence and security platforms. - Lead cloud-native modernization and migration of legacy systems. - Oversee platform engineering and operations to ensure reliability, performance, and data freshness. - Embed responsible, secure AI practices into the SDLC and deliver agentic AI capabilities. - Expand threat visibility by integrating new telemetry and developing advanced analytics. - Drive multi-year capacity planning aligned with product and research needs. - Evaluate open-source and commercial technologies for performance, cost, and scalability. - Manage technical integrations with strategic partners and support partner-ready solutions. - Build secure external interfaces for sharing intelligence and enabling collaboration. - Represent BLSG in industry forums and lead initiatives to validate emerging technologies. Qualifications - 12+ years in large-scale architecture or platform engineering. - 7+ years leading technical teams and cross-functional programs. - 3+ years implementing AI/ML frameworks in production. - Proven experience with cloud-native architectures, scalable data platforms, and containerized environments. - Expertise in network telemetry, threat analytics, and security product development. - Experience managing technical partnerships and integrations. - Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - Preferred: Background in cybersecurity, threat intelligence, NDR, AI/ML for security, or regulated environments. Compensation This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors. - $174,876 - $233,168 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY. - $183,621 - $244,827 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI. - $192,364 - $255,486 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
