Role Description We are seeking a talented Senior AWS Solutions Architect to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-scale cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services. This role requires deep technical expertise in AWS services and architecture patterns, combined with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor, working closely with development teams, stakeholders, and leadership to drive cloud innovation and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities - AWS Architecture & Design: - Design and architect comprehensive AWS solutions that meet business and technical requirements while adhering to AWS Well-Architected Framework principles. - Develop reference architectures, design patterns, and technical standards for cloud-native applications and infrastructure. - Create detailed architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation roadmaps that guide development and operations teams. - Solution Development & Implementation: - Lead the implementation of complex AWS solutions across compute, storage, networking, database, analytics, and security services. - Work hands-on with teams to architect and deploy production workloads using services such as EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, VPC, CloudFront, and others. - Ensure solutions are designed for high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity. - Infrastructure as Code & Automation: - Design and implement infrastructure automation using Terraform to provision and manage AWS resources at scale. - Develop reusable Terraform modules and maintain infrastructure code repositories following best practices for version control and testing. - Architect CI/CD pipelines that enable automated, repeatable deployments across multiple AWS environments and accounts. - Container Orchestration: - Design and implement containerized applications using Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) and ECS (Elastic Container Service). - Architect Kubernetes deployments that optimize for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency. - Implement container security best practices, service mesh architectures, and observability solutions for containerized workloads. - AI & Machine Learning Integration: - Integrate AWS AI and machine learning services into cloud architectures, including experience with AWS AgentCore, SageMaker, Bedrock, and related AI/ML services. - Design solutions that leverage artificial intelligence capabilities to enhance business processes and operational efficiency. - Evaluate emerging AWS AI technologies including Model Context Protocols (MCPs) and assess their applicability to organizational needs. - Automation & Orchestration: - Implement workflow automation and job orchestration using Rundeck and AWS native services such as Step Functions, EventBridge, and Systems Manager. - Design automated operational processes that reduce manual intervention and improve reliability. - Create runbooks and automation scripts that enable efficient infrastructure management. - Artifact & Release Management: - Design artifact management and software distribution strategies using JFrog Artifactory integrated with AWS services. - Implement secure artifact repositories and establish best practices for package management, versioning, and promotion across environments. - Integrate artifact management into CI/CD pipelines for seamless software delivery. - Security & Compliance: - Implement AWS security best practices across all solution designs, including IAM policies, security groups, network ACLs, encryption strategies, and compliance controls. - Design multi-account architectures using AWS Organizations and Control Tower that provide governance, security, and compliance at scale. - Ensure adherence to industry regulations and corporate security policies. - Cost Optimization: - Continuously analyze and optimize AWS spending through right-sizing recommendations, reserved instance strategies, and architectural improvements. - Implement cloud financial management practices using AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets, and third-party tools. - Provide regular cost optimization recommendations to stakeholders. - Technical Leadership & Collaboration: - Mentor and guide engineering teams on AWS best practices, architecture patterns, and emerging services. - Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance on cloud design decisions. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, operations, security, and business stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions. Qualifications - 8-12 years of experience in IT infrastructure and application architecture, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions on AWS. - Proven track record of delivering complex, enterprise-scale AWS solutions in production environments. - Deep technical proficiency across core AWS services including compute (EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS), storage (S3, EBS, EFS), databases (RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora), networking (VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway), and security services. - Strong understanding of AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars: operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization, and sustainability. - Expert-level proficiency with Terraform for AWS infrastructure provisioning and management. - Extensive hands-on experience with Amazon EKS and container orchestration using Kubernetes. - Practical experience with Rundeck for workflow automation and job scheduling. - Working knowledge of JFrog Artifactory for artifact repository management and integration with AWS services and CI/CD pipelines. - Familiarity with AWS AI and machine learning services including AWS AgentCore, Model Context Protocols (MCPs), SageMaker, Bedrock, and related technologies. - Strong scripting and programming skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages. - Experience with CI/CD tools such as AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD. - Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git. - Understanding of monitoring and observability tools including CloudWatch, X-Ray, and third-party solutions. - AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification required. - Additional AWS certifications (DevOps Engineer Professional, Security Specialty, or Advanced Networking Specialty) strongly preferred. Preferred Qualifications - AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Certified Security – Specialty. - Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD). - Experience with multi-cloud architectures and familiarity with Azure or GCP. - Background in FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization frameworks. - Experience with Infrastructure Security and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS). - Prior experience in the commercial real estate or professional services industry. - Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, New Relic, or Splunk.
