Akamai Technologies
• designing and implement scalable Application and API Security architectures across enterprise environments • partnering with customer engineering, DevOps, cloud, networking, and security teams to deploy and operationalize Akamai solutions • troubleshooting complex issues involving: Kubernetes, Cloud infrastructure, Networking, API gateways, Authentication flows, Hybrid architectures, Distributed applications • integrating Akamai API Security solutions with: Kubernetes platforms, API gateways, WAF/WAAP solutions, CDN architectures, SIEM and observability platforms, CI/CD pipelines • analyzing API traffic and application behavior to identify: Misconfigurations, Authentication gaps, Performance bottlenecks • developing enterprise architecture diagrams, integration patterns, deployment plans, and operational runbooks • leading customer workshops, technical enablement sessions, and architectural reviews
Job Requirements
- possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
- 7+ years of technical engineering/architecture function in enterprise environments
- 2+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as: Enterprise/Solutions Architect, Solutions/Platform/Site Reliability/Cloud Dev Sec Ops Engineering
- hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Linux systems and one or more major cloud platforms such as: AWS, Azure, GCP
- understanding of networking fundamentals including: TCP/IP, DNS, TLS/SSL, HTTP/S, Load balancing, Reverse proxies, Routing
- experience troubleshooting distributed cloud-native applications and debugging skills across infrastructure, networking, and application layers
- understand modern API technologies including: RESTful API's, OAuth/JWT, API authentication and authorization
- experience with API gateways, Ingress controllers, Reverse proxies, WAF/WAAP technologies
- excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and executive stakeholders
