Title:Engineering Lead TX - AI ENGINEERING LEAD (Public Sector Transformation) - Hybrid Role Location: TX Job Description: Company Overview A & Associates is partnering with a high-impact organization supporting large-scale public sector initiatives in Dallas County. This role sits at the center of a critical transformation—modernizing how data, cloud, and AI capabilities are leveraged across a complex enterprise environment. This is not a pure engineering role. This is a leadership position responsible for shaping and executing an AI strategy at scale. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced AI Engineering Lead who can bridge the gap between executive vision and technical execution. This individual will play a key role in defining and delivering an enterprise-wide AI transformation strategy—ensuring alignment across business priorities, IT architecture, and long-term scalability. You will lead both strategy and delivery, guiding teams across AI, data, and cloud while establishing governance, standards, and repeatable frameworks. Key Responsibilities - Enterprise AI Strategy & Roadmap - - Define and drive the long-term AI and data architecture strategy aligned with organizational goals - Establish scalable frameworks for AI adoption across departments - AI Governance & Standards - - Develop and enforce enterprise-wide AI standards, design patterns, and best practices - Lead or contribute to architecture review boards to ensure consistency and reduce technical debt - Cross-Functional Leadership - - Act as a liaison between executive leadership and technical teams - Translate business needs into actionable technical solutions and delivery plans - AI Solutions Delivery - - Oversee the design and execution of AI-driven solutions including: - - Chatbots and conversational AI - Multi-agent systems and orchestration - LLM optimization and integrations - Lead teams of AI Engineers, Developers, and Cloud SMEs to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes - Cloud & Data Architecture - - Define and enforce cloud architecture standards across AWS and/or Azure - Partner with infrastructure, security, and data teams to support modernization initiatives - Technology Lifecycle Management - - Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies where appropriate - Drive rationalization and retirement of legacy systems - Mentorship & Enablement - - Provide leadership, coaching, and technical direction to engineering teams - Support enterprise adoption through training, documentation, and best practices Duration: Contract (3–4 months, with strong potential for extension or conversion) Required Qualifications - Experience - - 15+ years of overall IT experience - 5+ years in AI, data engineering, or enterprise architecture leadership roles - Technical Expertise - - Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) - Deep understanding of: - - AI/ML systems and Large Language Models (LLMs) - Data architecture and integration patterns - Microservices and API-driven ecosystems - Hands-on or architectural familiarity with tools such as: - - Python, LangChain/LangGraph, vector databases, RAG frameworks - Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka - AWS Bedrock or similar AI services - Architecture & Governance - - Experience defining enterprise standards, frameworks, and governance models - Exposure to MLOps, AI lifecycle management, and secure architecture practices - Leadership & Communication - - Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels without direct authority - Strong communication skills—able to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences - Certifications (Required/Preferred) - - AWS Solutions Architect (Professional) – Required - TOGAF, Databricks, Snowflake, or cybersecurity certifications – Preferred - Education - - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) What Success Looks Like - Established a clear, actionable AI roadmap aligned with business priorities - Delivered initial AI solutions that demonstrate measurable value - Implemented governance frameworks that standardize development and reduce risk - Built alignment across leadership, engineering, and operational teams Why This Role This is a high-visibility opportunity to shape AI strategy within a complex, large-scale environment. • Build and maintain FPGA emulation environments using Siemens Veloce or similar platforms • Port and optimize RTL and test environments from simulation into emulation • Debug complex system-level issues that only appear at scale or in hardware-accelerated environments • Improve emulation performance, compile times, and runtime efficiency • Integrate UVM-based environments into emulation workflows (not building UVM from scratch, but making it work in emulation) • Support validation of high-speed interfaces and system-level data flows • Collaborate with RTL, verification, and systems teams to resolve design and integration issues • Enable full-chip and subsystem validation that cannot be achieved in simulation alone • Support DO-254 verification activities, including traceability and test evidence where needed • Help define best practices for emulation workflows across programs
