Role Description We are seeking an experienced IT Functional Lead with expertise in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and a strong background in Warehouse and Distribution operations. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of TMS functionality, along with extensive knowledge of warehouse processes, inventory management, and distribution systems. As the IT Functional Lead, you will guide the integration of TMS, warehouse management, and distribution systems to optimize the flow of goods, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure seamless processes across the supply chain. You will collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional departments to drive technology solutions that support business needs and logistics operations. What you'll do - TMS Functional Leadership & Configuration; - TMS Design & Configuration: Lead the functional design, configuration, and optimization of the Transportation Management System (TMS). - Business Requirements & Process Mapping: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and map business processes to TMS configurations. - System Integration: Oversee the integration of TMS with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP, and Distribution systems. - Optimization: Continuously optimize TMS functionality and workflows. - Warehouse & Distribution Systems Leadership; - Warehouse Process Expertise: Ensure seamless integration between TMS and warehouse management systems (WMS). - Distribution Network Optimization: Apply knowledge of distribution strategies to improve the flow of goods. - Inventory Management: Ensure that TMS integrates with WMS for real-time tracking of inventory. - Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership; - Stakeholder Management: Act as the main point of contact for business units. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, supply chain, and logistics teams. - Vendor Management: Manage relationships with TMS, WMS, and 3PL vendors. - Project Management & Implementation; - Lead TMS Implementation & Upgrades: Lead the implementation and configuration of new TMS, WMS, and distribution system capabilities. - Project Planning & Execution: Create detailed project plans for TMS and warehouse/distribution systems. - Change Management & User Training: Provide training, documentation, and support for system changes. - Reporting, Data Analytics & Continuous Improvement; - Reporting & Analytics: Collaborate with business teams to develop KPIs and dashboards. - Data Integration & Accuracy: Ensure real-time transportation data integrates seamlessly with warehouse systems. - Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvement initiatives within the TMS, WMS, and distribution systems. - Troubleshooting & Support; - Technical Support: Provide functional expertise and support to resolve issues within TMS, WMS, and distribution systems. - System Maintenance: Oversee the ongoing maintenance and optimization of TMS and WMS. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. - Relevant certifications in TMS (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, JDA), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or Project Management (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) are a plus. Requirements - 7+ years of experience in IT with at least 3-5 years specifically focused on Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse/Distribution systems. - Proven experience in warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and distribution network optimization. - Hands-on experience with TMS solutions (e.g., SAP TM, Oracle Transportation Management, Manhattan TMS, JDA) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) (e.g., Manhattan Associates, Blue Yonder, SAP EWM). - Experience in integrating TMS with WMS, ERP, and 3PL systems. Skills & Competencies - TMS & WMS Expertise: Strong understanding of TMS and WMS functions. - Business Process Knowledge: Expertise in warehouse and distribution operations, logistics management, and supply chain optimization. - Systems Integration: Experience in integrating TMS with WMS, ERP, and other supply chain systems. - Project Management: Proven ability to lead complex technical projects. - Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to evaluate logistics and warehouse data. - Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills. - Communication & Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Change Management: Experience managing system changes. Additional Preferred Qualifications - Experience with cloud-based TMS/WMS solutions or SaaS platforms. - Familiarity with supply chain management principles and best practices. - Knowledge of agile project management and agile methodologies.
