Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack
Healthie Inc.
Title: Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack (New Billing) Location: United States Job type: Full Time Department: Core Engineering Work type: Remote USD 175,000-195,000 / year Job Description: Our Mission We’re building infrastructure for modern healthcare delivery. Traditional healthcare is plagued with outdated, monolithic EHRs designed to maximize billing outcomes. Patient outcomes and provider experiences have been afterthoughts, as these systems have bolted on non-API-first solutions. None of this is built for how clinically excellent healthcare is actually delivered—longitudinally and collaboratively, with the patient at the center. Healthie is the world’s leading API-first, ONC-Certified EHR for healthcare delivery outside of the hospital. We provide the powerful infrastructure every scaling organization needs—EHR, scheduling, patient engagement, billing, and more—all accessible via modern APIs and a white-labeled UI. Our platform makes it simple for organizations of any size to launch, customize, and scale their care delivery models without reinventing the wheel. Today, over 1 billion API calls are made to Healthie every month, as thousands of organizations—working with more than 13 million patients in total—rely on Healthie to deliver care across a spectrum of specialties, from preventative health and wellness to complex chronic care management. We believe in the power of technology to improve access to healthcare—and we’re building the rails that make this a reality. We work fast and with quality because we provide business-critical, healthcare-critical software that clinicians and patients need for a better healthcare system. We’re customer-obsessed, operate with lightning-fast processes and responses, make our product roadmap public so customers can see what we’re building, and remain relentlessly focused on how care gets delivered. Healthie is backed by leading investors, and while we've $42M raised to date, more importantly, we operate with fiscal responsibility and have been profitable for more than half of our time as a company. About the role This isn’t a role for “just ship the ticket” engineers. As a Senior Software Engineer, New Billing at Healthie, you’ll own front-end architecture, design systems, and the web experiences that providers and patients touch every day. You’ll push Ruby, React, TypeScript, and GraphQL to their limits, craft interfaces that scale to millions, and set the bar for what seamless, performant healthcare tech should feel like. At Healthie, we are increasingly AI-enabled and AI-accelerated in how we build. We are looking for engineers who actively leverage AI-powered development tools, embrace automation, and help teams adopt modern, AI-assisted engineering practices to increase velocity and quality. You’ll: - Architect, implement, and polish the front-end experiences that define Healthie. - Build design systems and components so well-crafted other engineers will want to copy them. - Lead frontend initiatives, mentor engineers, and establish best practices. - Obsess over details — performance, accessibility, pixel alignment, motion curves — that turn “good” into “outstanding.” Collaborate with design, product, and back-end teams to deliver experiences, not just features. Details, details - This is a full-time, remote position located within the United States. - The base salary for this role is $175,000 - $195,000 per year with additional benefits, equity, and an annual company bonus. - U.S. work authorization is required, Healthie does not provide sponsorship. About you - Proven & Technical: 6+ years building and shipping large-scale front-end applications with React, TypeScript, GraphQL. Deep expertise in state management, component architecture, and scalable design systems. - Comfort leveraging AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining high architectural standards. - Quality Obsessed: You know performance and accessibility aren’t afterthoughts. You write clean, maintainable code and back it up with solid test coverage (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright). - Leader & Mentor: You raise the bar for the team, lead initiatives, guide best practices, and help others grow. - Detail-Oriented: You care about polish — from load times to motion curves — and won’t settle for “good enough.” - Mission-Driven: You’re excited by the chance to improve healthcare through technology, making digital health more accessible and user-friendly. - Values-Aligned: You embody Healthie’s values of Respect, Reliability, and Resilience, and thrive in a collaborative, remote-first environment.
