Role Description Phi International, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our finance team. The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for accurately processing payroll, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Qualifications - High school diploma required; associate's degree or certification in accounting or payroll administration is a plus. - 1-3 years of experience in payroll processing or related administrative roles. - Familiarity with payroll software and MS Excel. - Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail. - Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion. - Good organizational and communication skills. - Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations is preferred. Role Description The Payroll Administrator 1 is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely weekly and bi-weekly payroll for employees in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. This entry level role performs routine payroll tasks, maintains employee pay records, and is a point of contact for payroll-related questions and audits. This role will be expected to work with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate timesheets and payroll records. Essential Functions - Verify timesheets and calculate gross to net pay. - Maintain and update payroll records including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and benefit deductions. - Ensure compliance with applicable wage and hour laws, including overtime and minimum wage requirements. - Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and timekeeping. - Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies. - Maintain confidentiality of employee records and payroll information. - Ensure compliance across multiple Union contracts and AG Wage Order contracts. - Ensure garnishment compliance. - Maintain check registers and positive pay files for accuracy. • Manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for India and assigned APAC countries, including salaries, incentives, bonuses, arrears, and adjustments • Ensure compliance with statutory and tax regulations, including PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Income Tax (TDS/TCS), and other country‑specific requirements • Review, validate, and reconcile payroll inputs such as attendance, timesheets, new joiners, exits, and data changes • Handle Full & Final settlements, including leave encashment, gratuity calculations, and notice pay recoveries • Prepare payroll reports, variance analysis, and audit documentation for internal and external audits • Act as the primary point of contact for employee payroll queries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner • Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, and external payroll vendors to ensure smooth payroll operations and continuous improvement
