Role Description The Reporting Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering, defining, and translating of HR business reporting needs into clear requirements for Business Intelligence, data engineering, and analytics teams. The role ensures the delivery of accurate, consistent, and insightful reports and dashboards that support data-driven decision-making across the organisation. Duties & Responsibilities - Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Engagement - Lead workshops and interviews to understand reporting and dashboard needs from business stakeholders. - Translate business questions, KPIs, and processes into structured reporting requirements. - Document business and functional reporting requirements (BRDs/FRDs). - Reporting Design & Specifications - Develop report mock-ups, wireframes, and storyboards aligned to business use cases. - Define logic, calculations, filters, hierarchies, and data sources for each report. - Review BI tool capabilities and recommend suitable design approaches. - KPI & Data Definition - Define and maintain KPI dictionaries and business metric definitions. - Document data mappings between source systems and BI models. - Ensure consistent use of business rules and definitions across reports. - Data Analysis & Validation - Analyse datasets to assess availability, data quality, and suitability for reporting. - Support BI developers with clarifications and logic definitions. - Validate final reports and dashboards against business requirements and source data. - Testing & Quality Assurance - Prepare UAT plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria for reporting solutions. - Coordinate UAT execution with business users and track defects. - Ensure final solutions meet accuracy, usability, and performance standards. - Governance & Change Management - Contribute to reporting cataloguing, metadata management, and documentation. - Manage updates, enhancements, and deprecations of existing reports. - Support training and onboarding for new dashboards or BI tools. - Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to automate manual reports and streamline processes. - Promote self-service analytics and BI best practices. - Provide insights to optimise data usage and improve reporting maturity. Qualifications - Experience with HR systems - Strong understanding of KPIs, metrics, and business processes - Ability to translate business needs into data/reporting requirements - SQL/data literacy for validating and understanding datasets - Communication and workshop facilitation skills - Strong understanding of BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, SAP Analytics Cloud, etc.) - Experience with data modelling concepts (star schema, facts/dimensions) - Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines (advantage) Requirements - Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability - Strong understanding of business processes and KPI frameworks - Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements - Stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills - Strong verbal and written communication - Ability to work in agile, cross-functional teams - Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy Educational Background - Diploma or Bachelor’s in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business Administration - 3–5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Reporting Analyst, or BI Analyst - Experience in large data/analytics environments - Knowledge of data governance and reporting best practices - Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery teams (advantage)

Qualifications - Chartered Professional Accountant, or foreign equivalent. - Public company audit and/or financial reporting experience specifically with small to mid-sized businesses is a must. - Significant exposure to complex IFRS accounting issues; especially debt and equity financing transactions. - Ability to look to accounting standards and other guidance for answers rather than just following what they did last year. - Comfortable working independently in an autonomous entrepreneurial environment but can still be heavily relied upon to be a supportive team member. - Great interpersonal skills and comfortable working directly with clients.
