Social Copy Editor

Role Description We're looking for a social editor to join a major content studio team owning multiple social channels. This role is responsible for quality assurance and copy editing content for multiple high traffic social channels. This person needs first-hand experience providing production oversight, editing and revising content optimized for various social platforms and should be deeply immersed in social media, internet culture, news and trends. The ideal candidate is a production and editing expert with experience working virtually and across time zones to put out daily content. They must be a multitasker, organized and extremely detail-oriented. Day-to-day tasks are varied, and the work requires a mix of advance planning and fast-paced updates. Responsibilities - Work with the production team to prepare and QA content for publishing, ensuring accuracy and alignment across platforms before it goes live. - Leverage AI tools to optimize copywriting and editing production workflows. - Work with individual social media managers and creative producers to edit and revise copy that reflects the visuals in a piece. - Ensure adherence to documentation requirements for talent and minor releases. - Monitor the latest news, cultural moments and social trends to flag sensitivities and ensure our content lands well. - Edit and occasionally write copy for all surfaces, aligning with the brand voice. - Proofread and fact-check all content, including captions, subtitles and on-screen graphics. - Copy edit creative briefs and pitch decks. - Maintain a consistent and up-to-date style guide for editorial copy. - Enforce editorial standards and continuously refine our brand voice and tone. Qualifications - 10+ years experience editing for a media publisher or news outlet. - Ability to manage multiple projects at once. - High attention to detail. - Experience delivering quality writing and editing under tight deadlines. - Experience with quick-turn/rapid response communications. - Experience writing and editing for an international audience. - Strong storyteller who finds compelling ways to get our message across. - A passion for (and strong grasp of) social media, humor and emerging culture. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Remote, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
