Role Description As a Software Development Engineer Co-op, you will be helping build our live mobile games, including but not limited to Single City, Kingdoms of Heckfire, and Party in my Dorm, as well as the tools and infrastructure needed to run these massively multiplayer online experiences. You will work closely with artists and designers to help grow our games. You will implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable technologies for both client and server. You will have a major impact on the end product, and will be involved in every aspect of its development. Millions of people will use what you create. We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the fall of 2026. What you will do - Implement features, systems, and tools for our games in live operation. - Build entire features from front-end client code to back-end server support. - Become involved in every aspect of product development, from design to implementation to playtests to metrics analysis. - Construct systems that let everyone at the company deploy to our distributed backend without worry. - Create tools to automate and optimize processes across disciplines. Qualifications - You are a tech generalist, a full stack engineer with the desire to work on both client and server side implementations of entire features. - Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms. - You communicate your thoughts and ideas clearly in code and in writing. - You have an interest in and play mobile gaming products. Past co-ops have worked on.. - Guild management improvements like the ability to invite people, open clubs that players can join without approval, better club search, and other tools to keep our most active players engaged. - Implemented a scalable group leaderboard event system full stack. - Revamped data deploy tool to enable multiple game designers to work simultaneously. - Setup metrics tracking and funnel analysis and experimented with different UI polishes to improve retention. - Worked on upgrading our data pipeline: processing data and creating different data representations and visualizations. - Revamped the realm map overview to include real time positions of ongoing marches, key locations on the map and user bookmarked pins! - Implemented the entire stack for our Second Builder subscription purchase. - Optimized particle systems in-game to significantly reduce peak memory usage. - Developed leaderboard-assigned classes for Shrines to grant players additional perks. Role Description This program provides IT services focused on building, securing, and operating the Department of Veteran Affairs LGY’s home loan product-line technology. The contract’s purpose is to modernize and sustain critical home loan technology systems that support LGY’s delivery of mortgage-related services to program stakeholders, to provide continuous delivery and security integration. The Performance Developer will support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Loan Guaranty Service (LGY). The Performance developer will be responsible for: - Building the observability & monitoring artifacts, telemetry, and logging that supports serverless system performance. - Diagnosing performance bottlenecks and supporting performance optimization efforts across the LGY platform. - Owning the engineering pattern for how LGY Lambda services are built, instrumented with AWS ADOT, deployed through CI/CD, tested, and monitored in Dynatrace & Splunk. - Working closely with development teams and assisting operations teams to ensure system performance scalability and reliability across Salesforce and AWS-based integration services. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field or equivalent professional experience. - Development background experience with Nodejs and Python on serverless architecture. Requirements - Design, build, & maintain AWS Lambda services in Node.js & Python based serverless portfolio. - Lead AWS ADOT-based instrumentation for Lambda workloads, including OpenTelemetry layer adoption, configuration, OTLP settings, & runtime compatibility validation. - Using GitHub actions, develop pipelines to standardize CDK Lambda constructs for Dynatrace & AWS ADOT libraries, reusable layers, environment variables, active tracing, Lambda Insights, and centralized log configuration. - Must have dev background experience implementing & supporting end-to-end tracing, metrics development, and structured logging across API Gateway, Step Functions, SQS, S3, RDS/Postgres, Salesforce integrations, Oracle/SOAP services, document APIs. - Validate Dynatrace instrumentation compatibility for Nodejs Function & implement wrapper or alternate instrumentation strategies where required. - Develop and maintain correlation ID and trace propagation across Lambda, Step Functions, and downstream service calls so transactions are observable end to end. - Enforce observability practices for AWS cloud workloads, including PII-safe structured logging. - Build & maintain GitHub Actions pipelines for linting, unit tests, coverage, deploy, and post-deployment telemetry validations. - Create automated tests that verify instrumentation is working, including trace/log/metric arrival in Dynatrace & Splunk, cold-start visibility, and alert validation in each environment. - Develop python-based solutions to capture Lambda errors duration, errors, throttles, retries, cold starts, workflow failures, and downstream latency. - Tune Lambda memory, timeout, concurrency, packaging, and network configuration to balance AWS ADOT overhead, Dynatrace visibility, reliability, and cost. - Modernize older Lambda implementations and pipelines to a common AWS ADOT plus Dynatrace standard across multiple environments. - Investigate performance incidents and collaborate with development teams to diagnose root causes. - Review system logs, API metrics, and AWS service telemetry to identify infrastructure or application performance constraints. - Provide performance optimization recommendations to development teams when performance bottlenecks are identified.
