Title: Motion Designer (Mobile Game Marketing) Location: Vancouver Job Description: About the Role We’re looking for a Motion Designer to create high-performing marketing creatives for mobile games across paid social, app store, and brand channels. This role blends strong motion design skills with a sharp eye for visual storytelling, graphic design, and player-focused marketing. You’ll collaborate closely with the User Acquisition (UA) team to produce engaging ads, trailers, and promotional content that drive installs and player engagement. You'll be creating video ads, organic promotional content, and gameplay-driven marketing across paid social, app stores, and brand channels for multiple mobile games with very different visual styles. This isn't a role where you make one type of ad for one type of game. One week you might be cutting a gritty, action-heavy promo for a zombie game. The next you're making something bright and playful for a social sim. You'll own the process start to finish and you'll need to move quickly without sacrificing quality. The ideal candidate has strong motion and graphic design fundamentals, understands how to create effective mobile-first ad creatives, is comfortable working with gameplay assets, and is familiar with game engines such as Unity. What You’ll Do - Create high-volume motion graphics and video ads for mobile game marketing campaigns across UA, organic, and social channels - Produce gameplay-driven trailers, event promotions, App Store/Google Play creatives, and social media content - Design and animate typography, transitions, UI elements, and marketing visuals optimized for mobile platforms - Capture and edit gameplay footage, including inside Unity where needed - Adapt quickly between different game aesthetics and workflows - Take projects from brief to final export independently, with minimal back-and-forth once direction is set - Stay current on mobile ad trends, motion techniques, and what's performing in the market What We’re Looking for - 3–5 years of experience in motion design, with a strong portfolio of animation, typography, and visual design - Advanced proficiency in After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator - Strong design fundamentals including composition, timing, pacing, visual hierarchy - Experience owning the full production process independently, from brief to final delivery - Ability to adapt your aesthetic and workflow across very different creative briefs - Genuine interest in working in mobile game marketing - Must be available to work PST hours What Sets You Apart - Familiarity with Unity or other real-time game engines for gameplay capture or asset integration - Ability to work with Unity scenes for gameplay capture, camera setup, basic animation, or asset integration - Experience creating ads for mobile games or F2P titles - Background in graphic design, illustration, or visual branding - Experience working on mobile game campaigns with measurable performance goals - Knowledge of 3D workflows (Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya, etc.) - Basic understanding of shaders, particles, or in-engine VFX - Experience with ad iteration pipelines and creative testing - Familiarity with sound design and video editing best practices Portfolio Requirements: - Motion design and marketing work - Examples of mobile ads, trailers, or gameplay-driven creatives - Any Unity or in-engine capture work - Breakdown of your role on collaborative projects where applicable Location: Remote within Canada (must be able to work PST hours). Role Description As a Software Development Engineer Co-op, you will be helping build our live mobile games, including but not limited to Single City, Kingdoms of Heckfire, and Party in my Dorm, as well as the tools and infrastructure needed to run these massively multiplayer online experiences. You will work closely with artists and designers to help grow our games. You will implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable technologies for both client and server. You will have a major impact on the end product, and will be involved in every aspect of its development. Millions of people will use what you create. We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the fall of 2026. What you will do - Implement features, systems, and tools for our games in live operation. - Build entire features from front-end client code to back-end server support. - Become involved in every aspect of product development, from design to implementation to playtests to metrics analysis. - Construct systems that let everyone at the company deploy to our distributed backend without worry. - Create tools to automate and optimize processes across disciplines. Qualifications - You are a tech generalist, a full stack engineer with the desire to work on both client and server side implementations of entire features. - Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms. - You communicate your thoughts and ideas clearly in code and in writing. - You have an interest in and play mobile gaming products. Past co-ops have worked on.. - Guild management improvements like the ability to invite people, open clubs that players can join without approval, better club search, and other tools to keep our most active players engaged. - Implemented a scalable group leaderboard event system full stack. - Revamped data deploy tool to enable multiple game designers to work simultaneously. - Setup metrics tracking and funnel analysis and experimented with different UI polishes to improve retention. - Worked on upgrading our data pipeline: processing data and creating different data representations and visualizations. - Revamped the realm map overview to include real time positions of ongoing marches, key locations on the map and user bookmarked pins! - Implemented the entire stack for our Second Builder subscription purchase. - Optimized particle systems in-game to significantly reduce peak memory usage. - Developed leaderboard-assigned classes for Shrines to grant players additional perks. In this role, you’ll take ownership of game event art production from ideation to final delivery, while supporting broader creative initiatives and contributing to the game’s continued success alongside a cross-functional team. This position is ideal for an artist with strong communication and time management skills who is excited to work with a team that values innovation, creativity, and data-informed decision making. An interest in mobile games, pop culture trends, and fashion is a requirement for this role. Qualifications - A 2D art portfolio that demonstrates creativity, versatility, and strong art fundamentals—particularly human anatomy, character design, and colour theory. - Experience creating 2D game art assets, ideally as part of a live-ops or mobile studio environment. - Experience working in Adobe Photoshop. - Advanced time management skills, with the ability to plan ahead, manage production risks, and deliver consistent results while ensuring production deadlines are met. - Strong communication skills, with experience collaborating in a cross-functional setting. - Extensive experience with giving and receiving constructive feedback, including utilizing feedback in order to achieve stronger results. - An interest in creating content informed by fashion and pop culture trends.
