Job Description
People Operations Specialist
Pennylane SAS
Role Description We're looking for a confirmed or Senior People Operations Specialist to join a team that moves fast, thinks strategically, and genuinely cares about the employee experience. You'll be part of a structured yet agile People Operations team, working alongside a Head of People Operations and a People Operations Manager (your direct manager), with 5 specialists each owning a dedicated scope. Yours will cover Tech, Product & International, representing half of the company, spread across EMEA (France, Spain, Germany and beyond). In this role, your solid grounding in HR operations and your ability to build robust reporting frameworks and automate administrative processes will be essential levers to support Pennylane's continued growth. What you'll own - People operations partnering & employee lifecycle: - Be the go-to HR contact (together with 2 other team members) for ~500 employees across Tech, Product & International. - Own the full employee journey: onboarding, offboarding, contracts, amendments, certificates, absences, end to end and with a high standard of quality. - Build trusted relationships with employees and managers, and be genuinely responsive and helpful. - Payroll & benefits: - Prepare and transmit payroll variables with precision and reliability. - Monitor employee benefits (health insurance, pension, meal vouchers) and ensure employees get the most out of them. - Process improvement & automation: - Spot inefficiencies, build solutions, whether that's a smarter Notion page, a better workflow, or a fully automated process. - Lead or co-lead the digitalization of HR tools and contribute to a more scalable PeopleOps infrastructure. - Strategic & cross-functional projects: - Get involved in projects that go beyond your daily scope: new country openings, D&I initiatives, EVP, HR tool rollouts. - Bring structure, documentation, and operational rigor to everything you touch. - Compliance & regulatory monitoring: - Stay on top of French & German (and EMEA) labor law and ensure the company remains compliant. - Keep operational documentation sharp and up to date (onboarding booklet, Notion pages, charters, guides). Qualifications - Solid experience as a People Ops Specialist, ideally gained within a fast-growing company or startup environment. - Comfortable working independently, with a proven ability to juggle multiple priorities and stay effective in a fast-paced, ever-changing context. - Ability to partner closely on a daily basis with one or several HRBPs, working hand in hand to support your scope of responsibilities and 2 other people operations specialists handling this large scope. - Thrives in environments where things move fast and where embracing change is part of the job. - Proficient in Workday and genuinely curious about how AI & automation can make People Ops smarter. - Strong command of the Deel platform, specifically regarding EOR (Employer of Record) contracts and contractor management across different jurisdictions. - Fully fluent in French and English; German is a strong plus. Important information for candidates - Recruitment scam attempts are on the rise. We invite you to remain vigilant during your exchanges. - Applications through official channels only: apply exclusively through our job postings published on our official platforms (career site, official partner pages). - Always verify the sender's email address: our communications are sent from professional email addresses with the domains @pennylane.com or @pennylane-partners.com. - We will never ask you for payment or financial information (bank details, payment for an interview, equipment purchases, etc.) as part of the recruitment process. - We fully embrace diversity, equity and inclusion and are committed to providing an equal employment opportunity regardless of gender, sexual orientation, origin, disabilities, or any other traits that make you who you are.
