Role Description Newfangled Studios is searching for an enthusiastic Motion Designer to help design & animate across a range of digital video campaigns. As a member of our design team, you’ll be working closely with our artists and directors to create world-class video and animation. Most importantly, you’ll help us do work that delivers on the four points of the Newfangled North Star: - Creativity and Innovation - Business Results - Respect & Inclusion - Forward Progress Qualifications - Solid understanding of Adobe Suite, Figma, and basic knowledge of After Effects. - Knowledge of 3D, Premiere, post production is a plus. - Passion for design, animation, and brand storytelling. - Desire to grow and learn, with a passion for creative craft. - Understanding of design principles with a strong sense of layout, color, typography, and composition. - Organized and detail-oriented artist. - Able to observe and replicate established design & animation styles with a director's assistance. - Receives feedback through a lens of curiosity and constructive criticism. - Creative collaborator, able to work in a team environment to achieve goals. - Positive attitude and strong work ethic. - At least a year of working experience within the motion graphics industry. Requirements - Design styleframes for animation and videos, storyboarding, assets for social campaigns as well as traditional media. - Work closely with directors to bring storyboards to life for animation. - Reformat and version existing assets for various social media platforms. - Deliver work on time and according to schedule, meeting internal and external deadlines. - Implement feedback from internal and external shareholders. - Keep projects clean, organized, and easy to navigate for other animators. - Complete design explorations underneath senior design leadership. Role Description The PV & BESS Designer will be responsible for designing PV (photovoltaic) and BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) solutions, creating and optimizing detailed technical drawings, and collaborating with engineers and project teams to deliver effective designs. You will ensure that your designs meet client and regulatory standards while incorporating creative concepts that align with the project’s goals. Additionally, you will maintain a high standard of visual and technical accuracy in all design tasks and cross-functional collaboration. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities - Evaluate battery energy storage technologies with respect to project goals and assess various major equipment such as modules, DC components, inverters, racking, BESS containers, BESS BOP equipment, and medium voltage systems. - Develop AC and DC electrical system designs, including creation of single line schematics, circuit diagrams and conceptual site layouts. - Prepare cable schedule for associated single line diagrams. - Coordinate with preconstruction, subject matter experts, engineering project managers and engineering consultants as necessary. - Generate preliminary quantities and design assumptions to support cost estimates, vendor RFQs and procurement strategy. - Perform early constructability reviews of site layouts, trenching concepts, equipment access, and installation sequencing. - Identify design-driven risks (site constraints, interconnection limitations, equipment conflicts) and support mitigation planning. - Clearly document assumptions, exclusions, and design risks for handoff to detailed engineering. - Incorporate feedback from engineering, construction, and interconnection stakeholders into evolving design concepts. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or AUTOCAD certification in a related field such as Engineering or Renewable Energy is preferred. - Proficiency in AUTOCAD, PVCase, PVFarm or similar drafting tools.
