Associate Director – Brand & Communications

• Lead the development and execution of the company’s global brand and communications strategy, ensuring a differentiated and credible brand presence across all regions. • Own and evolve brand positioning, messaging architecture, and brand governance, delivering consistency and alignment across corporate communications touchpoints. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business priorities into compelling, audience-relevant narratives. • Develop and pitch stories, press releases, and thought leadership content to relevant media outlets to secure earned media coverage and brand visibility. • Establish and maintain strong relationships with media contacts and industry thought leaders to support brand visibility, credibility, and strategic communications efforts. • Oversee the strategy and development of brand-led content, including slide decks, presentations, corporate website pages, news briefs, articles, and executive interviews. • Act as the primary steward of brand standards and quality, reviewing and approving all client-facing assets to ensure accuracy and regulatory alignment. • Direct external communications, including company announcements, operational updates, media relations, and executive communications such as leadership messaging and speaking materials. • Develop executive briefing materials, including key messages, talking points, and background briefs, to prepare leaders for secured media coverage such as interviews, podcasts, and speaking engagements. • Lead the development of presentation materials and slide decks to support speaking engagements and external presentations by company leaders. • Serve as the brand and communications lead for major corporate initiatives, including service launches, facility openings, and strategic milestones. • Ensure brand alignment and message pull-through across events, trade shows, executive engagements, and various marketing initiatives. • Lead the identification, application, and submission process for relevant industry awards to support brand credibility and third-party recognition. • Work closely with industry partners to develop and align corporate messaging that clearly articulates the value of each partnership and how it fits into the company’s broader brand narrative and strategic story. • Manage and mentor a team of content, design, and event professionals, fostering a high-performing and accountable team culture. • Establish and monitor brand and communications KPIs, including awareness, engagement, media quality, and brand content performance. • Maintain awareness of industry trends, regulatory considerations, and competitive messaging to ensure communications remain current, compliant, and differentiated. • Act as a visible brand ambassador, upholding and reinforcing the company’s brand values and voice across all communications. • Support internal communications strategy, partnering with leadership and HR to ensure clear and aligned messaging to employees across the organization. • Ensure internal brand consistency by equipping employees with clear messaging, guidelines, and resources to accurately represent the company across all internal and external interactions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in brand, communications, or corporate marketing, preferably within B2B or highly regulated industries
  • Experience in the Biopharmaceutical industry strongly preferred
  • Proven experience developing positioning, messaging, and content across multiple channels
  • Demonstrated experience working with media outlets, earned media initiatives, thought leadership activities, and executive communications
  • Proficient in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams).

Role Description We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Change and Communications Lead to join our Transformation Office at SDx. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing integrated change management and communication strategies to support our organization's transformation initiatives supporting our growth journey and building trust with our Associates. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all stakeholders are informed, engaged, and prepared for the changes ahead. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Develop and implement a comprehensive change management and communications strategy in support of key business transformations in SDx. - Partner with the SDx transformation office leaders to ensure a strategic and timely approach to communications on transformations. - Build a positive reputation for the SDx transformations and ensure the transformation communications provide clarity, build excitement and engagement with Associates. - Equip and guide SDx leaders to deliver effective and compelling communications around transformations. - Partner with the SDx CA leads and the Petcare transformation change management leads to ensure alignment and consistency in communications within SDx. - Craft clear, compelling, and consistent messaging, narratives and Q&As across various channels, and audiences in SDx. - Conduct impact analyses and stakeholder assessments to understand the effects of the transformation on different groups within the organization. - Develop and implement strategies to mitigate resistance to change and foster a culture of adoption. - Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of change and communication efforts. - Provide expertise on change communications to the SDx transformation team. - Provide regular updates and reports to the transformation office and senior leadership on progress and outcomes. - Own and manage agency and/or management consultancy support on communications. - Play a key role on the SDx Corporate Affairs Leadership team, having transformation as part of the agenda. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree required. A Master's degree is a plus. - More than 10 years of experience in a similar role in-house or in an agency, with a proven track record of successfully managing change and communications for large-scale transformation projects. - Experience working in a corporate affairs or communications function is essential.
