• Responsible for the development and execution of effective and creative government relations strategies on behalf of Sun Life in southeast region of the United States • Develop and execute state-specific strategies to introduce and influence legislation, regulation, and policy proposals that protect, enable and grow Sun Life priorities • Develop and maintain strong relationships with and act as liaison to Executive Branch officials, gubernatorial appointee level officials, state legislators, and key staffers within assigned region • Analyze proposed and enacted legislation, regulations and sub-regulatory guidance to inform operational and financial impact by partnering with internal subject matter experts • Identify, synthesize, and report on high-level political landscape and ways it impacts on-the-ground relationships, opportunities, and challenges to inform overall government relations department strategy • Develop relationships with aligned state trade associations, business leaders, and other external stakeholders to advance Sun Life priorities and strengthen relationships with elected officials and appointed regulatory leaders • Manage state contract lobbyists or other outside contractors within region • Know, adhere to, and educate other internal stakeholders on state lobbying and ethics rules
• Proactively contact existing Sun Life Group Retirement Savings plan members to discuss asset retention. • Conduct primarily phone consultations with video meetings as needed, to understand client goals and needs. • Recommend appropriate savings, investment, and insurance solutions based on client needs. • Build meaningful relationships with Group Retirement Savings plan members by delivering professional, personalized advice. • Stay current on Sun Life products, industry trends, and regulatory expectations. • Take ownership of sales activity, client follow-up, and results while contributing to a high-performing team culture.

• Interacts with customers to provide and process information in response to general inquiries, concerns, and requests about products and services • Projects a professional company image • Corresponds with customers via phone, email, web portal, and chat interactions • Researches assistance requested and consistently provides accurate information to resolve inquiries • Thoroughly documents all customer interactions • Educates customers on eligibility, benefits, claims payment, and authorizations • Provides direction on the usage and benefits of self-service tools • Assists members in gaining access to care by locating a network dentist or assignment to a primary care dentist • Appropriately routes inquiries to necessary departments or individuals when resolution is beyond these responsibilities • Meets or exceeds individual, department, and client specific goals • Understands and adheres to all administrative and contractual policies and procedures • Suggests ways to improve service delivery processes
• Prepare and review complex federal and state income tax returns and provisions • Drive tax process and technology transformation initiatives • Lead or contribute to tax technology initiatives • Research US tax theory • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal control requirements • Interact with personnel from all areas of the Company • Assist in responding to inquiries from federal and state tax auditors • Provide support and effectively manage the internal audit process • Assist with forecasting • Assist in international reporting (5471, 5472, etc.) and partnership returns • Review tax accounts reconciliations • Processing intercompany tax payments and other intercompany reporting • Prepare quarterly and annual Federal and SALT income tax provisions for life entities

• Design, develop, install, deploy, test, medium-scale analytics models and AI applications in support of business and client outcomes and objectives. • Design and implement training pipelines for machine learning models. • Build leading MLOps pipelines to deploy and update machine learning models and analytics applications. • Build leading feature engineering pipelines extracting and preparing data for machine learning model performance. • Train and evaluate models using diverse datasets and performance metrics, choosing and applying appropriate machine learning algorithms. • Maintain and optimize model to improve accuracy and monitor reliability. • Implement leading monitoring mechanisms to track model performance and identify issues. • Detect and mitigate biases in machine learning models to promote fairness. • Write leading specifications of machine learning models and processes for reproducibility and maintenance. • Present insights and performance tuning recommendations from machine learning models to inform business decisions. • Promote ethical principles and responsible AI guidelines for machine learning development. • Integrate machine learning models into production environments. • Develop and deploy APIs for model access and prediction requests. • Leverage best practices and patterns in MLOps (machine learning operations) to ensure efficient and scalable model lifecycle management. • Integrate leading AI service and machine learning models with existing applications and DevSecOps deployment pipelines. • Embrace Agile development practices and employ SDLC processes on all development. • Collaborate with data scientists practitioners, finance and business analysts, actuaries and engineers to achieve model objectives. • Effectively mentor other engineers. • Lead a "data-first" approach to problem solving and designing IT solutions.
