Marketing and Communications Specialist
CivicScience
• Create high-impact, data-driven marketing collateral, including content development, layout, and visual appeal, aligned with brand standards. • Own the day-to-day execution of CivicScience’s social media presence, creating engaging posts, designing infographics, and monitoring community interaction to drive brand awareness and polling responses. • Act as the primary internal resource for quick-turn design needs, producing visually appealing graphics that translate complex data into easy-to-understand charts and infographics. • Partner with the VP of Communications on content related to inbound & outbound media requests. • Collaborate with Sales & Client Success to build and refine client presentations and narratives. • Manage marketing automation tools, maintain the company website, and the marketing calendar.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 1 - 2 years of marketing or media-related experience; advertising and/or ad tech skills are a plus.
- Strong eye for visual design and layout.
- Expertise in Canva is required; experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to weave data into a persuasive story.
- Proven experience managing professional social media accounts and understanding platform-specific best practices.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and experience with Customer Relationship Management systems.
- A curious, resourceful, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple creative projects simultaneously.

Qualifications - Bachelor's degree required. A Master's degree is a plus. - More than 10 years of experience in a similar role in-house or in an agency, with a proven track record of successfully managing change and communications for large-scale transformation projects. - Experience working in a corporate affairs or communications function is essential. This consultancy will contribute to: - Strengthened external visibility and policy positioning of the Economic and Social Policy Global Practice across relevant digital, media, partner, and advocacy platforms. - Improved communication coherence across global, regional, and country office levels. - Stronger translation of prioritized technical content into clear, persuasive, and audience-specific advocacy and communication products. - Enhanced positioning, including stronger engagement with partners, coalitions, and external partners across the broader economic and social policy agenda. - Enhancement and refinement of UNICEF’s global positioning and visibility on ESP through digital communication. Qualifications - Master’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications, development economics, public policy, or a closely related field. - Strong understanding of one or more of the following areas: child poverty, social protection, finance for children, youth livelihoods, and cash-based assistance. - Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in communications, advocacy, public affairs, or related fields. - Experience supporting policy communication, campaigns, or communication products in international development settings, especially in the Social Policy thematic areas. - Experience working across multiple teams and stakeholders in decentralized settings is desirable. - Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another UN language is preferred.
