Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain our data lake platform and related services. - Write and test high-quality, reliable code for data pipelines and platform components. - Collaborate with senior engineers to understand design and architecture principles. - Participate in code reviews to learn from and contribute to the team's engineering standards. - Help troubleshoot and resolve issues in development and production environments. - Contribute to the documentation of our platform, systems, and tools. - Demonstrate a strong passion for continuous learning and improving technical skills. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in software design and development, with a focus on building large-scale, distributed systems. - Strong hands-on experience in software development, architecture, deployment, and production operations, preferably with Java / J2EE (Spring/Spring Boot). - Proficiency in languages like Python is highly desirable. - Experience with AI-native development workflows, leveraging advanced coding assistants to accelerate complex problem-solving and optimize code quality. - Experience with cloud architecture and services, including AWS (S3, EMR, Kubernetes, Lambda) and/or Azure. - Experience in CI/CD automation and frameworks. - A strong desire to learn about data engineering, large-scale data systems, and AI technologies. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. - Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Requirements - The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position: $121,500.00 - $145,500.00. - Actual pay rates will vary based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. - Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. - Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. - Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan. • Own product features end-to-end, from design through production. • Build user-facing experiences in React and TypeScript. • Design and ship backend services with Python and FastAPI. • Partner with product, design, and engineering peers to turn fuzzy problems into shipped software. • Raise the bar in code review and help shape our engineering practices. • Improve our development processes as we grow — testing, CI/CD, observability — the things that compound over time.

• Design, build, and deploy clinical AI agents that reason over patient context, invoke tools, and generate care recommendations. • Own reliability, observability, and cost efficiency of LLM-powered workflows at scale. • Build and optimize RAG pipelines over clinical knowledge bases, treatment protocols, and real-time patient data. • Develop evaluation frameworks: offline benchmarks, safety tests, regression suites, and LLM-as-judge pipelines wired into CI/CD. • Design multi-step agent orchestration: planning, memory, tool use, error recovery, and human-in-the-loop escalation paths. • Collaborate with clinical, product, and engineering teams to translate patient care needs into AI system design. • Stay at the forefront of AI and engineering best practices, continuously pushing the team to raise the bar on quality, performance, and architecture.

• Design and deliver full stack AI-powered applications from frontend to backend with a focus on scalability and reliability • Build and integrate LLM-powered features using AWS Bedrock, LangChain, and LangGraph • Develop and maintain RESTful and event-driven APIs that power AI workflows • Deploy and manage services on Kubernetes in collaboration with the platform team • Contribute to shared libraries, reusable components, and internal AI enablement tools • Support and mentor AI Developers (SD II) through code reviews and technical guidance • Participate in architecture discussions and help shape engineering standards within the team
