Role Description Stellaromics is seeking a highly motivated and scientifically driven Field Application Scientist (FAS) to provide technical expertise in 3D Spatial Biology, customer training, and scientific support for our cutting-edge Pyxa instrument, assays, and software. The FAS will play a critical role in customer success, acting as a trusted advisor and technical expert while ensuring the effective use of Stellaromics’ products. This is a Europe-based, field-facing role with responsibility for customer training and support across the region. The position is home-office based, with preference for candidates located in Central or Western Europe and within easy access of a major international airport. Responsibilities - Customer Training & Support: - Coordinate and conduct customer site training sessions and product demonstrations. - Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to user skills, assay design, experimental setup, software, and instrumentation. - Identify, document, and escalate customer issues, complaints, or concerns to the management team. - Support Product Development teams with testing and verification of Pyxa instrument, analysis software, consumables and reagents. - Keep customers informed about advancements in Stellaromics Pyxa instrument, assays, and software. - Scientific Collaboration & Customer Engagement: - Partner with customers to integrate Stellaromics’ technology into their research workflows. - Engage in scientific discussions with customers, fostering long-term relationships. - Gather and communicate customer feedback, competitive insights, and emerging use cases to Stellaromics’ Marketing and Product Development teams. - Support the field sales team at customer sites, trade shows, seminars, and scientific symposiums through technical presentations and networking. - Technical Writing & Documentation: - Contribute to white papers, training materials, and knowledge base documentation to expand Stellaromics’ customer support content. - Maintain accurate customer site records and provide high-level feedback to management. Qualifications - Ph.D. (preferred) or equivalent experience (e.g., B.S. with ~5 years or M.S. with ~3 years) in Cellular Biology, Pathology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Genetics. - Previous customer-facing experience in a similar scientific/technical role. - Experience in histology, cellular pathology, and imaging techniques. - Hands-on knowledge of cryosectioning, microtomy, tissue embedding, and tissue handling preferred. - Strong knowledge of molecular biology, genomics, tissue imaging and data analysis techniques. - Experience with spatial transcriptomics and related methodologies. - Clear commitment to outstanding customer service. - Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills. - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve corporate objectives. - Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and composure. - Strong written and verbal English communication skills. - Outstanding presentation and training abilities to diverse audiences. - Familiarity with CRM software for customer management and reporting. Requirements - Frequent travel within Europe is required to deliver onsite training, support new instrument installations, provide application troubleshooting, and build strong customer relationships. - Expected travel is approximately 50-70%, with flexibility based on customer and business needs. - Occasional international travel may be required for internal meetings, training, and other company activities. This position is responsible for working with providers in the coordination of patient participation on oncology clinical trials. The Research Scientist 2 is responsible for informed consent of the patient, scheduling of protocol required appointments, documentation of side effects and medications. This role works directly with study team and PI to assure the trial activity is per protocol expectations and regulations. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Demonstrates and applies thorough understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), research protocols, and assessment instruments. 2. Responsible for the daily conduct of assigned clinical trials by adhering to research protocols, planning/scheduling/coordinating logistical arrangements for research subject participation, and monitoring subject adherence to the protocol calendar of events and regulatory requirements. 3. Independently screens, recruits, and enrolls cancer patients to non-therapeutic oncology clinical trials (non-therapeutic interventional, behavioral, bio-repository, and quality of life). 4. Responsible for providing informed consent and interacting with patients and/or caregivers to clearly explain protocol expectations. Able to provide clear and concise instruction to research participants and/or caregivers. 5. Independently gathers all supporting documentation to assess subject eligibility with the Principal Investigator. 6. Generates data and performs and/or oversees data collection to ensure data integrity, quality control, and protocol compliance. Prepares narrative or graphical reports as appropriate. Able to complete patient contact documentation at each visit/contact to ensure all required data points are collected in the patient record. 7. The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center is the Official Cancer Center of New Mexico and the only National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center in a 500-mile radius. Its 136 board-certified oncology specialty physicians include cancer surgeons in every specialty (abdominal, thoracic, bone and soft tissue, neurosurgery, genitourinary, gynecology, and head and neck cancers), adult and pediatric hematologists/medical oncologists, gynecologic oncologists, and radiation oncologists. They, along with more than 600 other cancer healthcare professionals (nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, navigators, psychologists and social workers), provide treatment to 65% of New Mexico’s cancer patients from all across the state. And they partner with community health systems statewide to provide cancer care closer to home. In 2024 they treated more than 15,000 patients in almost 105,000 ambulatory clinic visits in addition to in-patient hospitalizations at UNM Hospital. A total of 2,075 patients participated in cancer clinical trials to study new cancer treatments that include tests of novel cancer prevention strategies and cancer genome sequencing.
