Field Service Engineer, Chicago, IL
PerkinElmer
• Install, maintain, validate and repair PerkinElmer and/or multivendor instrumentation at customer site with best-in-class service • Provide troubleshooting, repair, and qualification services for customers including warranty services within a prescribed time frame and established maintenance protocols • Communicate service offerings including training, support, software, laboratory services products and field upgrades • Partner with our customers to understand their analytical workflow and applications • Complete all administrative tasks to include but not limited to time reporting, assigned training, etc.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline including military experience plus 2 years direct experience with repair of laboratory equipment OR Associate Degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline including military experience plus 4 years direct experience with repair of laboratory equipment OR High School Diploma plus 10 years direct experience with repair of laboratory equipment.
- Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience using Microsoft 365
- Aptitude for technical and practical matters
- Ability to travel by air, vehicle and/or other means of transportation as business requires.

Field Service Technician – Remote, with Travel
LayerZero Power SystemsStatic Transfer Switches, Power Distribution Units, and Power Panels for Data Centers and Critical Industries.
• Perform startup, commissioning, service, and preventive maintenance on LayerZero equipment, including: Static transfer switches, Power distribution units, Remote power panels • Provide technical support to customers on-site and remotely via phone and email • Maintain accurate and timely service records in the LayerZero system • Respond to emergency service calls, including participation in the 24/7 support rotation • Travel to customer sites across the U.S. and Canada as required • Occasional weekend or holiday work may be necessary
