Role Description We’re hiring an entrepreneurial E-commerce Director / Senior E-commerce Manager to build our digital commerce function from the ground up. You’ll manage the Shopify site end-to-end, focusing on: - Merchandising - Site experience - Conversion rate optimization - Operational infrastructure for growth This role is hands-on and highly visible, working closely with the Founder to provide both strategic direction and practical execution. Your first focus will be on establishing a solid website and measurement foundation; paid media and CRM will scale after the fundamentals are in place. Responsibilities - Own the client's Shopify storefront and improve online revenue, conversion rate, and customer experience. - Audit the current site and create a prioritized roadmap of foundational fixes and high-impact quick wins. - Implement and continuously improve CRO across PDPs, collection pages, navigation, cart, and checkout (testing, analysis, iteration). - Build a reliable analytics and reporting foundation for data-driven decision making. - Elevate site merchandising: collections, product discovery, on-site storytelling, and brand presentation. - Own promotional execution on-site (launches, offers, merchandising moments) ensuring a seamless customer experience. - Partner with designers, developers, photographers/content, and copywriters to enhance performance and presentation. - Optimize catalog and inventory presentation on Shopify (product setup, variants, collections, searchability, and integrations). - Collaborate with and help assess/select external partners like media buyers and CRM/email support as the channel matures, guided by ROI. Qualifications - 5+ years owning e-commerce performance with clear responsibility for outcomes (revenue, conversion rate, customer journey). - Hands-on Shopify expertise (admin, catalog management, merchandising, apps/integrations, promotions, troubleshooting). - Proven experience improving conversion through CRO and funnel optimization (real execution, not just “best practices”). - Strong comfort with e-commerce analytics and KPI reporting, including validating tracking and measurement quality. - Ability to diagnose issues in an under-optimized store and execute a practical plan without a large team. - Experience collaborating cross-functionally with creative and technical partners (design, dev, content, copy, media/CRM). - Confident stakeholder communication: able to educate, influence, and guide a non-digital founder through priorities and trade-offs. Nice to Have - Fashion/apparel, DTC, or consumer retail e-commerce experience. - Experience in lean entrepreneurial businesses (roughly $5M–$50M revenue range or similar environments). - Familiarity with AI tools that enhance creative workflows, image enhancement, or digital merchandising. Benefits - Access to a $200K+ perk marketplace with discounts on 150+ global services. - Option to withdraw up to 50% of approved earnings before payday.
