Senior Cabinet Vision Draftsperson / Cabinet Designer

Role Description We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Cabinet Vision Draftsperson / Cabinet Designer to join our team full-time. This role is suited to someone with advanced Cabinet Vision expertise who can confidently manage both the design and technical drafting side of residential and commercial joinery projects. This is not just a drafting role. Many projects begin with inspiration images, empty spaces, or early concepts, so the successful candidate must be confident working directly with clients to develop layouts, selections, and functional joinery solutions before preparing production-ready drawings and CNC outputs. You will work on a variety of projects including: - High-end homes - Duplexes - Medical centres - Shop fit-outs - Hospitals - Large renovation projects Strong English communication is essential, as you will regularly communicate with Australian clients regarding designs, materials, layouts, and shop drawings. We are looking for someone who can work independently, understands Australian joinery standards and workflows, and brings a strong balance of design thinking, technical accuracy, and manufacturing knowledge. Qualifications - 8+ years of experience using Cabinet Vision in a cabinetry or joinery production environment - Previous experience working for an Australian joinery or cabinetry company is required - Strong experience across both residential and commercial joinery projects - Ability to handle both cabinetry design and technical drafting responsibilities - Experience preparing CNC nesting files, manufacturing outputs, and production-ready shop drawings - Strong understanding of Australian joinery standards, cabinetry construction methods, and manufacturing workflows - Strong understanding of material optimisation and CNC production processes - Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar drafting/design software is highly regarded - Excellent spoken and written English communication skills with a clear and professional communication style - Confident communicating directly with Australian clients via phone and email - Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects independently Requirements - Prepare detailed joinery shop drawings and production-ready outputs using Cabinet Vision - Design cabinetry and joinery layouts based on client requirements, inspiration references, or empty space concepts - Communicate directly with clients regarding layouts, materials, colours, finishes, appliances, and functional requirements - Produce accurate CNC nesting files and manufacturing-ready documentation for factory production - Interpret architectural drawings, site measurements, and project specifications for residential and commercial projects - Review drawings and specifications to identify potential manufacturing or installation issues before production - Coordinate revisions, approvals, and technical details with internal stakeholders and clients - Apply strong understanding of Australian joinery standards, manufacturing workflows, and material optimisation processes - Maintain organised project documentation, revisions, and file management across multiple active projects Benefits - Compensation range: $2,500 AUD - $3,000 AUD / Monthly - Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement - Work Schedule: Align with AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) with flexibility in time management
