Job Description

Regional Food Safety Manager

Chipotle Mexican Grill

• Serve as Food Safety subject matter expert supporting restaurants and cross-functional teams, providing guidance and coaching on Food Safety programs and issues • Plan and execute restaurant visits working side-by-side with leaders to assess and drive food safety compliance and best practices, ensuring food safety values are at the core of daily restaurant operations and team behaviors • Support new Field Leaders with food safety onboarding and education to include audit and assessment execution and use of company tools and resources • Lead response to food safety emergencies escalated through the Safety Support Restaurant (SSR) Hotline, assessing impact, triaging issues, engaging stakeholders, and aligning on appropriate resolution to include executive and third-party escalation and restaurant closures • Oversee and coordinate rigorous food safety compliance by leveraging data-driven reporting, robust training programs, and cross-functional collaboration, working with all stakeholders to align on food safety priorities • Contribute to the development of national food safety policies, procedures, and materials for all locations and restaurant employees • Develop expertise in food safety tools, systems, and strategies empowering teams to act as ambassadors of food safety through coaching, mentoring, and leading by example • Exercise sound judgment in fast-moving situations, often serving as the first point of contact for food safety decisions in the field

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year University in General Science, Food Science and Technology, Human Nutrition, Hospitality Management, or Business Administration required
  • CP-FS and REHS/RS certification required
  • Manager Level ServSafe Certification, HACCP Certification and Allergen Certification required
  • 5-8 years of experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Microbiology, Chemistry, Restaurant Operations and/or Pest Management required
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and improve food safety programs through effective and efficient collaboration and leadership
  • Strong ability to analyze, prioritize, and resolve complex food safety challenges in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, plan effectively, and deliver results
  • Skilled at delivering clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communications to internal cross-functional teams and leadership and external partners
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to coach and inspire teams toward a shared goal of food safety excellence
  • Proficiency in identifying risks, developing solutions, and implementing preventative measures that align with company objectives
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, FDA Food Code, and experience conducting audits or managing food safety incidents
  • Familiarity with pest management vendors and risk mitigation strategies
  • Ability to remain on call outside of standard business hours, traveling up to 60% as needed.
