The Senior Manager, Workforce Development at Micron is a pivotal role responsible for building, scaling, and sustaining a certified, production-ready, and future-capable workforce. This position offers an outstanding chance to lead and develop the workforce strategy for Micron Semiconductor India. It ensures our operations run flawlessly and our ramp-up goals are met with precise accuracy. Key Responsibilities Workforce Readiness & Ramp Execution - Own the overall workforce readiness strategy aligned to Micron ramp plans and hiring roadmap. - Ensure operators, technicians, and engineers are certified on time to support volume ramp with minimal learning loss. - Translate ramp targets into weekly executable training and certification plans. - Drive closure of WFD gaps impacting yield, efficiency, compliance, or safety. Training Program & Curriculum Ownership - Define, maintain, and continuously improve role-based training curricula (MA, Technician, Engineer). - Ensure inclusion of MES or equivalent experience, SAP, YMS, PR issuance, blocking issue resolution paths, and system differentiation (internal vs external issues). - Standardize training modules, assessment methods, and certification criteria across Micron Semiconductor India site. - Partner with engineering services, quality control, tech support, manufacturing, and EHS to validate the transfer of learning. Certification, Skills & Proficiency Framework - Build and implement a proficiency/skills readiness framework for engineers and technicians. - Own certification governance: tracking, re-certification, audit readiness, and risk closure. - Provide leadership visibility through clear readiness dashboards and skill heatmap. - Benchmark and leverage proven frameworks from other Micron sites where applicable. Training Infrastructure & Capacity Management - Ensure sufficient training rooms, cleanroom training space, and system environments to support bulk hiring. - Coordinate with Facilities, Procurement, and Site Leadership on space and infrastructure readiness. - Explore and implement solutions such as training centers, simulated environments, or phased certification models. Collaborator & Cross-Functional Leadership - Serve as the single-point owner for Workforce Development (WFD) across Micron, partnering closely with Manufacturing, Area Owners, Engineering, Quality, IT/MES, People Org/HR, and EHS & Compliance, while representing workforce readiness in site reviews, ramp readiness forums, and executive updates. Metrics, Reporting & Governance - Establish and maintain weekly WFD progress reporting across all roles (MA, Tech, Engineer, and other professionals), track KPIs such as certification attainment versus plan, time-to-certification, training efficiency, learning retention, production readiness impact, and overdue classes, and proactively identify risks to drive structured mitigation actions and timely leadership decisions. People Leadership - Lead and develop WFD team members with clear role clarity, performance expectations, and growth plans. - Build a strong execution culture built on rigor, ownership, and outcomes. - Mentor leaders to operate independently while maintaining site-level alignment. Required Qualifications - Required is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or an associated area (a Master's degree or matching hands-on experience is preferred). - 10-15+ years in manufacturing operations, workforce development, training, or industrial engineering. - Proven experience supporting factory ramp-ups or large-scale workforce onboarding. - Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing or high-tech manufacturing environments.
