Faculty Associate – Rural Health Tele-Neurology
University of Maryland Faculty Physicians
• Provide general neurology consults via telemedicine • Coverage hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, overnight consultative calls handled telephonically • No in-house responsibilities • No acute stroke or neurocritical care coverage required • Supported by advanced practice providers (APPs) who assist with consult coordination, follow-up care, and discharge planning • Daily workflow includes morning tele-rounds followed by consult coverage throughout the day • Performs professional duties and technical procedures of the particular area of specialty to provide examination and treatment of patients
Job Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Medicine in area of specialty
- 3-5 years of clinical experience
- CPR required
- BLS required
- ACLS and/or other relevant certification as required by the department
- Board certification/eligibility in area of specialty
- Demonstrated ability to promote professionalism through involvement in professional organizations, teaching, research, and/or publishing
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
