Job Description

Field Service Technician III

Motorola Solutions

• Provide on-site and remote upgrades and troubleshooting of Motorola ASTRO systems. • Demonstrate and leverage expertise in ASTRO core applications (UNC, PM, UEM, ESXi, IMW, KMF, HBSS, and PKI). • Administer and troubleshoot within an IT environment. • Execute Motorola ASTRO upgrades. • Collaborate with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams (Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Customer Support). • Contribute to preventative maintenance and break-fix activities. • Participate in the execution of upgrade and migration strategies. • Proficiently utilize Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications. • Apply knowledge of Motorola ASTRO technologies, including networking, cybersecurity principles, Active Directory administration, and LMR communications. • Administer and troubleshoot IP networks. • Effectively manage and troubleshoot issues within an IT environment. • Maintain meticulous organization and attention to detail. • Utilize CompTIA Network+, Security+, MCSE, or CISSP certification knowledge (as applicable). • Manage and utilize Host Based Security Systems (HBSS).

Job Requirements

  • Must be capable of obtaining an acceptable adjudication of DOD Secret (T3) Clearance within 18 months of initial employment date
  • Complete standard form SF86 questionnaire and fingerprinting for national security positions
  • Must obtain either a CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification or Certified Electronics Technician within first 12 months of employment
  • 2+ years of experience in one of the following: LMR, RF Systems, Radio Frequency, Radio Communications, System Administration, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, Networking Equipment, IT, IT Systems, Zone Core, ASTRO Networking, Microsoft Active Directory, McAfee Security Suite, MCC7500 Dispatch, NICE Logging, E911, Dispatch, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Engineering, Networking equipment or Military experience
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by our government contracts.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.

This role is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery, operational excellence, and compliance with safety and performance standards. You will work with minimum supervision, lead on-site teams, coordinate with internal stakeholders and partners, and support the Regional Manager in achieving operational KPIs and customer expectations. What you will do: - Lead and manage the regional Field Services team to ensure efficient network operation and maintenance activities. - Act as the primary point of contact for field operations in the Sabah region, supporting CelcomDigi network performance and service continuity. - Plan, coordinate, and supervise corrective and preventive maintenance activities across assigned sites. - Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to field teams, ensuring issues are resolved effectively and within SLA targets. - Monitor daily operations, analyze performance data, and take proactive actions to meet operational KPIs. - Support the Regional Manager in service delivery, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. - Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards and Ericsson MS OHS framework. - Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits; ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). - Supervise and coordinate third-party and subcontractor activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and security requirements. - Manage site access control, physical security compliance, and escalation of any safety or security incidents. - Foster a results-driven, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
