Our Banno Financial Platform group is seeking a talented Android Engineer to help us provide the most cutting-edge mobile banking products to financial institutions across the country. This is a remote position, and candidates must live within approximately a 70-mile radius of our office locations in Allen, TX; Cedar Falls, IA; Charlotte, NC; Birmingham, AL; Louisville, KY; Lenexa, KS; Springfield, MO; or Monett, MO. The salary range for this position is $80,350- $120,000 and will be determined based on location and experience level. All positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding requirement to verify your identity. What you'll be responsible for: - Completes product technical design and prototyping, software development, bug verification and resolution. - Performs system analysis and programming activities which may require research and timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production. - Provides technical/engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery until the retirement of the application. - Develops and tests applications based on business requirements and industry best practices. - Uses best practices and standard guidance to create and modify code. Considers how code changes will affect end users and internal teams. - Collaborates with QA team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. - Participates in cross team projects as needed. • Works on critical tasks and deliverables with minimal assistance, and sets and updates expectations on size, scope, and timelines. - May represent team in cross-team meetings and discussions. - Adheres to documented departmental and corporate standards. Participates in the definition and documentation of standards. - Performs other duties as assigned. - Plans unit tests and integration tests to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of developed software. - Debugs and troubleshoots issues as they arise, providing timely resolutions. - May perform other job duties as assigned. What you'll need to have: - Minimum of 4 years of experience of Android engineering, including experience with Java and/or Kotlin. - Minimum of 18 months of experience of Android engineering. - Knowledge of the Android ecosystem including applications, deployments, and security. What would be nice for you to have: - Bachelor's degree. - Experience in the fintech industry. - Experience with Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Coroutines, and persistence using Room. - Experience with GitHub Actions. • Own Moov's Android foundation: the public Kotlin SDK surface and the architecture beneath it. • Build on modern Android frameworks: Jetpack Compose, Kotlin coroutines, and Flow. • Hold a high bar for software design and attention to detail. • Craft is the product. • Establish testing, CI, and release practices that make shipping routine. • Partner closely with server-side engineering, Product, Design, and leadership on ambiguous, early-stage work. • Pair with your iOS counterpart on product parity and a shared release rhythm. • Work out loud, favoring transparency, and openly sharing progress with stakeholders. • Help build the mobile team and lead Android engineering within it.

Role Description Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and develop new features for the Cracker Barrel Android application. - Work closely with designers to ensure that the user interface and experience align with Cracker Barrel's brand identity and standards. - Integrate with external APIs and data sources to provide dynamic content and functionality within the app. - Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability. - Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency. - Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. - Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs. - Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization. - Continuously monitor app performance and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. - Knowledge of modern Android architectural patterns. - Experience with cloud message APIs and push notifications. - Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines. - Previous experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment. - Proven working experience in Android app development and have published at least one original Android app. - Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes. - Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services. - Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Proficiency in mobile programming languages (Kotlin, Java, JavaScript).
