HR Technology Leader – Workday Payroll

• Collaborate with Innovative 3Mers Around the World • Own end-to-end solution design and apply deep Workday expertise to govern complex payroll, accrual, and time valuation configurations. • Drive innovation across core HR and pay processes, lead cross functional initiatives, and translate business needs into clear, user focused system designs. • Serve as the senior Workday expert Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking modules, leading advanced design and configuration of pay calculation rules, accrual logic, eligibility, earnings/deductions setup, and time valuation. • Oversee and mentor HR Technology Analysts in configuration, testing, and deployment activities. • Review and approve configuration, test scripts, test results, and documentation to ensure accuracy and audit readiness. • Lead complex troubleshooting related to gross-to-net results, retro calculations, accruals, time valuation, and integration discrepancies. • Evaluate Workday semiannual releases and identify features that improve payroll accuracy, compliance, and processing efficiency. • Partner with Payroll, HR Operations, Total Rewards, IT, Legal, and Compliance to gather requirements, influence design decisions, and resolve complex issues.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- 5 years of HR Technology experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- 5 years of Workday configuration experience specializing in Payroll in a private, public, government or military environment
- Workday Pro certification preferred.
- Strong expertise with US Workday Payroll (PATT)
- Proven success designing complex pay calculation rules, accrual configurations, time valuation, eligibility, and payroll workflows.
- Familiarity with union rules, shift differentials, premium pay, and complex pay components.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, particularly with pay results and time valuation.
- Experience leading or mentoring analysts or technical team members.
- Strong project management skills; ability to influence at all levels.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Workday Scheduling module preferred.

Role Description Daily activities of the payroll function to facilitate the timely delivery of payroll and monthly/quarterly reporting in an efficient manner. - Responsible for data input for EMEA payroll to Payroll Providers. - Payroll end to end processing: from receiving data from HR to preparing journal entries for GL team to post for month end. - Assist with audit queries. - Participates in ad hoc projects. - Research payroll tax issues and handle inquiries from taxing authorities. - Reconciliation and liaison with HR/Benefits for pensions and other benefit control accounts, accrued vacation etc. - Documents payroll processes and procedures and ensuring they are kept up to date. - Liaise between payroll services, internal teams, service providers and regulatory entities to ensure system interface and reporting requirements deadlines are met without delay. - Integral part of the commission/bonus process to facilitate accurate data reporting and timely payment. - Assist with ADP GL’s integration to Workday. - Ensure the timely preparation, reporting and payment of all statutory requirements to various government agencies in EMEA, payroll taxes, social security, pensions etc. - Ensure accurate and timely accruals for vacation, sick leave and maternity leave. - Assist with quarterly process audits between Payroll and Workday. Qualifications - Experience working with Local Payroll service providers in the EMEA region. - Computer literate and competent in Excel. Knowledge of ADP (iHCM & Streamline) and Workday advantageous. - Ability to work with diverse groups of different cultures and backgrounds and manage them to their deliverables within a given timeframe. - Demonstrates motivation and drive, with hands on approach, in an international and fast-paced growth environment. - Ability to handle multiple changing priorities and strong attention to detail. - An understanding of the German language would be advantageous.
