Job Summary: The Platform Engineering team is a close-knit group of five highly senior, deeply experienced engineers focused on solving some of the hardest self-service challenges in our developer platform space — from CI/CD and Kubernetes to AI-powered tooling and internal developer portals. We build platforms that make deploying and operating applications faster, more secure, and highly repeatable, removing friction at scale so teams across the organization can move quickly with confidence. The team operates in Hybrid, focusing office time for meaningful collaboration. Platform Engineering exists to empower product engineering teams to build, deploy, and operate healthcare software faster, more reliably, and more securely. We tackle complex cross-functional domains to deliver end-to-end self-service platforms, golden paths, and developer tools that reduce cognitive load so development teams can focus on delivering value to clinicians and patients. We may not own every part of the stack, but we are the glue that pieces it together meaningfully — and we own the reliability of what we build through SRE practices. Key Responsibilities - Platform Development & Engineering - Platform Operations & Reliability - Platform Adoption & Developer Enablement - Technical Leadership & Standards - System Design & Architecture Qualifications & Skills Minimum: - Strong proficiency with Kubernetes across the full cluster stack — operating complex environments, extending platform capabilities, and maintaining reliability at scale - Expert-level proficiency building and operating CI/CD pipelines optimized for security, compliance, and developer experience - Strong proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js for building production-grade platform services, APIs, CLIs, and SDKs, with strong automated testing practices (unit, integration, E2E) - Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi) and GitOps practices - Strong proficiency with observability (metrics, logging, distributed tracing, SLI/SLO frameworks, error budgets) and proven operational ownership including on-call incident response and post-mortems - Working proficiency with cloud security practices (IAM, secret handling, encryption) and cloud networking (virtual network design, routing, firewall controls) in a production environment - Strong communication, influence, and documentation skills — able to translate technical complexity for engineers and non-engineers alike, and produce ADRs, runbooks, and developer-facing documentation Preferred: - Experience with AI/ML integration: LLM APIs, intelligent automation, AI-assisted developer tooling, and agentic patterns - Experience building internal developer platforms or platform-as-a-product initiatives, including developer portals and self-service tooling - Experience with policy-as-code, security automation, compliance tooling (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST), and cloud cost optimization (FinOps) - Active contribution to open-source projects or thought leadership through technical blogging, conference speaking, or community contributions At PointClickCare, base salary is one of the many components that make up our total rewards package. The CAD base salary range for this position is $126,900 $141,000 + bonus + benefits. (overtime eligible). Our salary ranges are determined by job and level.
