• Supports leadership in planning, developing and directing the overall audit program for the University • Participates in the planning and scope determination of projects • Initiates, plans, and conducts meetings with management to discuss strategic goals and objectives • Trains and supervises other audit staff members and reviews their work for sufficiency of scope and accuracy • Directs, counsels, and instructs subordinate auditors • Reviews work papers and edits audit reports prepared by subordinate auditors • Obtains, analyzes, and appraises evidentiary data as a base for an informed objective opinion on the efficiency and effectiveness of the client’s processes • Assists the Audit Director with continual risk assessment, including developing the audit schedule and prioritization of audits • Promotes the mission of the Audit Department and its ability to provide expert advisory services to clients
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and 5 years of experience as an auditor/consultant (internal audit and/or public accounting) role required
- Master's degree preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in health care or higher education preferred
- Systems implementation experience preferred
- Understanding of internal controls, business processes, auditing procedures and risk assessments
- Proficient in PC functionality and Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
- Ability to manage appropriate steps to get projects completed
- Ability to organize people and processes and can create a plan for resourceful workflow required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Demonstrated problem solving skills required

Role Description The Director, IT Project Manager is responsible for leading complex, cross‑functional technology projects from initiation through delivery. Key Responsibilities - Project Leadership & Delivery - Lead end‑to‑end delivery of multiple concurrent IT projects (e.g., application development, systems implementation, cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, integrations). - Define and manage project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders. - Develop and maintain detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, resource plans, and budgets; track progress and adjust as needed. - Stakeholder Management & Communication - Partner with IT and Business Project Leaders to enable communication between business units, IT teams, vendors, and leadership. - Facilitate project kickoff meetings, status meetings, and steering committee updates. - Provide clear, concise, and timely communication on project status, risks, issues, and decisions to all levels, including executives. - Governance, Risk & Quality - Work with Core Project team to identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests; drive mitigation and resolution. - Ensure projects adhere to organizational PMO standards, SDLC/Agile practices, security policies, and compliance requirements. - Establish and track KPIs/metrics to measure project performance and benefits realization. - Team Leadership & Collaboration - Partner with IT and Business Project Leads to lead cross‑functional project teams, including business analysts, developers, architects, QA, infrastructure, security, and external vendors. - Lead through influence to set project expectations, assign tasks, and monitor workload; promote accountability and high performance. - Mentor and coach junior project managers or team members in project management best practices. - Process Improvement - Continuously look for ways to improve IT project delivery processes, tools, and templates. - Capture lessons learned and contribute to the evolution of IT PMO standards and methodologies.
