Title: Policy Coordinator Location: Urbana United States Job Description: Office of Medicaid Innovation Sponsorship for Work authorization is not available for this position Job Summary The Medicaid Policy Coordinator operates as part of the OMI Operations Team and is responsible for collaborating with HFS, OMI, and the various parts of the University to identify current or impending problems, create solutions, and evaluate other proposed solutions required to ensure the success of OMI projects, goals, and objectives. The Medicaid Policy Coordinator helps plan, develop, and implement administrative and clinical healthcare initiatives and projects pursuant to the Interagency Agreement (IA) between the University and HFS. Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) is Illinois' single state Medicaid agency and the state organization responsible for administering Illinois' Medical Assistance and Child Support programs. Duties & Responsibilities - - Analyze, recommend, and develop policy and procedures regarding Medicaid services that will maximize Illinois resources, increase clinical quality, and ensure compliance with the federal Medicaid program. - - Seek to foster innovation and employ best practices in the development of Illinois Medicaid-funded projects and initiatives. - - Review and research new healthcare programs and procedure codes and make recommendations for policy around those programs and codes. - - Make policy recommendations to OMI and HFS leadership to establish and finalize policy decisions. - - Draft state plan amendments, waiver applications, and rules changes, at the request of HFS leadership. - - Provide policy expertise and technical assistance to HFS staff and stakeholders to ensure accurate and consistent understanding of the federal Medicaid program and Illinois' Medical Assistance program. - - Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree. A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience in policy administration in health, business, law, and or related field. (Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.) Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required. Additional education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education: - Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field (health care administration, business, law or related field) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Comprehensive understanding of health service administration, professional relationship development, and data management and analysis skills. - Must have excellent communication skills, for oral and written communication. - Must be able to quickly assess and analysis strategic business affairs to act in the best interest of OMI/HFS. - Ability to work well with a team. - Knowledge of Microsoft Office, with special emphasis on Excel is critical. - Comprehensive understanding of Illinois Medicaid delivery system and HFS Managed Care Organizations. Appointment Information This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible. The budgeted salary range for the position is $70,000 to $80,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. Core Marcomms - Produce press materials, blogs, whitepapers, case studies, and product announcements - Develop and evolve Preservica's messaging frameworks, translating complex topics in digital preservation and information governance into compelling narratives PR & Media Relations - Appoint & manage PR agency relationships to drive thought leadership in vertical trade publications and build direct relationships with key journalists and analysts Team & Agency Management - Line manage a small team, brief and hold agencies accountable, and act as a communications advisor to senior leadership What You Bring - 7+ years in B2B content or marketing communications, preferably in SaaS or tech - Working knowledge of GEO and how AI search is reshaping B2B buyer behavior + prove it - Exceptional writer who adapts voice and format across audiences and channels - Strong LinkedIn organic and paid expertise, including ABM-aligned targeting - Proven ability to manage and hold external PR agencies accountable to results - Solid grasp of digital communications: social, email, and SEO - Experience managing direct reports with a collaborative, empowering style - Hands-on with marketing automation (HubSpot or Pardot preferred) for email, nurture, and reporting - Fluent with AI writing tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Jasper, etc.) to scale content production - Data-driven, with comfort in Google Analytics, LinkedIn Insights, HubSpot, or Salesforce - Highly organized — able to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment - BA or equivalent Nice to Have - Familiarity with government, archives, higher ed, financial services, or records management. - ABM platform experience or structured ABM campaign execution. - Experience supporting executive thought leadership and spokesperson programs. - Background in digital preservation, information governance, or enterprise content management.
